Smile Nitro had water inside.................. But not any more

After the rain this weekend, I got in my Nitro to go get gas. THe windows were fogged up and I thought that was odd. Looked at the passenger floor, and the carpet was soaked!!! THe windows and doors were closed. Gonna go to the dealer tomorrow, but I'm just wondering if this has happened to anyone else.....

Did you end up going to the dealer today? If so, did they find the source of the leak? There have been no service bulletins for water leaks, but know of a couple owners that had bad seals on the rear hatch that let water in to the back and made its way to the front.

Re: Nitro has water inside..................

I went to the dealer, and they said come back thursday when a "Leak specilist will be in" I did notice a little drip on the rear hatch, but thought it was from me opening it up. THe wierd thing, the water was only ontop of the carpet. Not pooled underneath. My sales guy said that once the leak is fixed, they should replace the carpet.

It sounds like you have a good dealer that is willing to do the right thing about replacing the carpet. Hope they find your leak before it floods on you again.

Problem fixed!!!! The Dealership had some one come out and fixed the Problem. They replaced the Carpet, Replaced the Mat under the Carpet, Replaced, and Re-sealed the Cowl ( The thing by the windshield wipers. Thats where it was leaking), re-sealed the Splash guards, and re-sealed the Door. Went home and tested it myself. No water!!!! Glad I didn't have to pay for it. I saw the Bill. it was like $250.00. But I had the car back by noon.

Man that's great. It's good that they took care of the problem and they made everything right. It sounds like you have a good dealership there you can trust.

Question to MyBlueNitro:

Why do you have a picture of a Blue Jeep on you postings?

Because, prior to picking up my Nitro yesterday, that was what I had. Better now?

Ah yes. A picture of a beautiful blue Nitro for MyBlueNitro.

How was your first ride home?

Enjoy your Nitro while I wait 5-7 more weeks for mine.
