Angry service ?? (Brakes)

Does anyone know what recourse, if any I have when the dealership where I bought this piece of crap Nitro from refuses to service it. Its still under warranty and they refuse to fix it or even look at it. All I get from them is eyerolling and attitude like I'm the one who manufactured this useless vehicle. I have had this Nitro for only 4 months and have attempted to have it serviced many times and keep being told all these noises and problems are normal. I seriously doubt squealing and grabby brakes are normal and it doesn't shift right even after having new software put in it. Totally frustated with this whole thing. Any help or advice would be so appreiciated.

My advice... Try not to paint the Nitro, or dealerships in general, with a broad brush based on a negative experience with one dealership. Go to another dealership, but more importantly, go with a fresh and positive attitude because you will get back what you give!

No way to know all the facts here, and I'm not implying this is what happened, but like any business, if a customer allows their frustration to consume them to the point of being unreasonable or even abusive, that business does have the right to refuse to deal with the customer.

so here are a few thoughts and some advice for starting fresh:

-Problem: What you may be interpreting as "refusal" to fix a problem may actually be the common "Cannot duplicate", which will be stated as such on your paperwork. If the technician can't hear or see the problem when you take the car in, they cannot diagnose or repair what does not exist at that time.

Solution
: Make an appointment to take it in to a new dealership. Develop a good rapport with a service writer and always go to that service writer exclusively. When you arrive for your appointment, ask your service writer to have a technician meet you at the service writer's station to witness the problem in your presence. Take the technician for a ride with you to demonstrate the problem if needed, then have him/her drive the car back to the dealership to experience it personally.

If you cannot duplicate the problem at that time, don't leave your car, but now you will have a record of the visit and the symptoms will be documented. Before leaving, have your service writer add to the documentation that you will return with the car when the problem is present... then be prepared to stop what you're doing and drive straight to the dealership as soon as the symptoms recur to demonstrate them to the writer AND technician at that moment.

...Aside from your dealership woes, a search of the TSB's and posted complaints here doesn't show any widespread brake issues. What may be causing your problem could be as simple as a brake pad build-up on the rotors, so before you try to get it back in the shop, you might want to try to bed in your brakes and see if that solves the problem. This brake bedding procedure is courtesy of Dave Zeckhausen, our resident brake specialist, as posted on one of our sister sites, 300Cforums.com.

Good luck, let us know how things work out...
I'd love to help you change your username!!

Exclamation Brake Recall

Hello To All...about The Brake Issue, There Was A Recall That Stated Something Like The Brakes May Lockup Unintentionally Thus Causing A Wreck Or Worse. I Had My Nitro Serviced. This May Or May Not Help. Don't Remember The Recall Number But Check With The Dealership And Tell Them You Heard There Was A Recall About The Brake System And If This Doesn't Help, Call Corporate Or Customer Service And Ask Them About All Of Their Recalls On The Nitro. Good Luck!!!!!!!

I just had an accident in my Nirto that about killed me and I had my foot on the brakes and it did not stop til I went 575 ft or yards cannot remember the air bags did not even come out on the driver or passenger side I hit a colvert at 45 to 55 mph then the truck stoped but I got a ticket for this piece of crap car. Another thing is my car has stalled 5 time and the dealership here cannot find anything but now there is a recall for a stalling engine on the nitros so is this car relly safe are they going to wait til someone dies before they do anything.

umm

Let me clarify something for you. I am not an abusive person. I always enter this dealership with my everyday attitude. My Nitro has alot of problems that I am trying to get fixed. They refused to even look at my Nitro and what I mean by that is they told me I am not going to look at it. Thats refusal. The only one getting attitude is me from the service people. I appreciate you trying to help but it was no help.

I don't know anything about this case so maybe you have a very legit reason to be upset. And you certainly have the right to get your vehicle serviced & do it any dealer of your choosing.

That said, many frustrated customers can sometimes start using words/phrases like, "I'm going to sue you", "I'm calling my attorney", or "I'm filing a case with the NHTSA".

This kind of talk can & will turn a dealer off immediately. So be careful about making any comments like this, regardless if they are empty threats or legit complaints. Dealers have specific instructions to distance themselves from anyone making these claims. And then you will deal only with Corp directly.
