Nitro R/T Dual Exhaust

How many times have you heard you can't put dual exhaust on a Nitro. Don't believe it. It's just not easy and a lot of shops don't want the hassle.

I had them install an off the shelf single-in dual-out Flowmaster 40 Series muffler. Nothing 'specially designed for the Nitro' here. Just standard free flowing exhaust for the masses.

For the tailpipes, the crossover to the left side will be the one that most shops will say can't be done. It needs to clear the in front of the sway bar link by as much as possible so the link doesn't hit the pipe when the Nitro goes over a dip in the road or when it is heavily laden.

The tailpipe on the right side is easy, same exit as stock, or straight out the back like mine.

I went a little over the top on the stainless steel tips.

What did this cost. You can do a lot better by going with less expensive tips. Total cost was $350.00.

Muffler $90.00
2” pipe $60.00
2-3”SS tips $80.00
Misc. pieces including hangers $20.00
Labor $80.00
Tax $20.00

So does anyone (Magnaflow pref.) make anything dual for the Nitro yet? I know they make a single cat back, but I really want a true dual cat back for mine!!!

It really didn't change the mileage at all.

Thanks man. The same set-up sounds equally good on the 3.7L engine. Almost identical sound from both engines.

You may as well not hold out for someone to produce a cat-back dual system for the Nitro. It will never happen. It is possible to mass produce a working dual exhaust for the Nitro, but exhaust manufacturers don't believe it. Therefore, if you want duals, find a shop willing to give you a one-off like so many of us have done and go for it. Good luck!
