Smile Racemesh Gril Side vents installed.

Well ordered them last month and got them yesterday.

Electropolished stainless steel came in at 259 plus shipping (249 for regular).

Not a small sum of money by any means, but when looking at making my own, I don't have a large assortment of tools (grinders, dremels) and a new set of vents would have cost me betwee 120-150.. So I decided I'd let the pros do it.

They turned out as I had hoped. Very easy to install. I personally like the look so by that token all is well. I may horse around with my old ones to see what I can do now that it won't matter if I destroy them..

I've had alot of people ask me where I got my vents (including a guy who owns a chrome acc. shop).
Everything you see on my nitro is from eBay... If you look hard enough there are some crazy deals.
I got the chrome vents and mirrors from eBay seller: storechampion

The electropolished units look great. Are the metal parts removable in case somebody wanted to paint the background to match body color ??

the mesh is not removable. they do offer painting as a service if you want to spend the $$ though.

I'm going to take mine out and black out the area behind the mesh.. I'll post updated pics near the weeks end.

Cool Store Chamipion Is On E-bay.

HELLO FISHDIST,

I WENT TO E-BAY AND LOOKED UNDER THE EBAY STORES FOR THE NAME "STORE CHAMPION" AND TYPED IN NITRO OR TYPE IN NITRO SIDE VENT AND THE SIDE VENT TRIM ITEM CAME UP. IT LOOKS LIKE THE ONE PICTURED IN THE PREVIOUS POST. THE BUY IT NOW PRICE IS $51.90 AND SHIPPING IS $9.78. THE ONLY THING YOU NEED TO ASK THE SELLER IS IF THIS IS FOR 2 SIDE VENTS. FOR THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDES BECAUSE I COULDN'T FIND IF IT WERE FOR JUST THE ONE VENT OR TWO. HOPE THIS HELPS YOU. LOOKS LIKE STORE CHAMPION HAS SOME OTHER NITRO ITEMS. GOOD LUCK!!!!! Thanks McN, yeh I got that, but I don't want the chrome ones, I want the one acx posted about, I'm into the painted thing as you are. I own a plating factory (used to do concourse chrome back in the day) and I'm not a chrome fan for the most part.

I have my MoPar mud flaps and waiting for suitable rear view mirrors to become available (Muth says they will have one in Dec, heated, and turn signals, etc.) I'm looking for a little bigger or rounder mirrors because the Nitro mirrors have a killer blind spot that is tricky to adjust for. After I get the mirrors, I will send mirrors and mud flaps to the painter to get them made white to match the car. I figure the racemesh side vents would also look good painted in (like MyBlue Nitro, is that you ??).

The Westin bull bar has a skid plate that covers up the transmission cooler lower end that sticks out into the air. There is a coolant line exposed there, also. I was conerned about it getting hit by a rock, but the skid plate seems to protect it nicely. I'll post a pic when I get time.

I checked out the K & N but it didn't seem to be any much different from the stock, so I didn't get. I'm not going to do much if any to the engine as I'm pretty happy with the way it performs for my purposes. I notice mileage varies dramatically with how deep you put your foot in. If I keep it around 60and drive smoothly, it runs real close to 20, but drop the hammer a few times and she goes down to the 18s. The Magnaflow did make a performance difference,as well as sounding great, but nobody mistakes this baby for a V-8. It does have a unique sound however.

Keep the great info coming. I will be off the air from Nov 2 thru 10, vacationing in North Carolina at my sister in Law's beach house. Looking for some soft shell crab at Swansboroand fishing the intercoastal.

hey I got them directly from racemesh. Been on a couple weeks now and no worries, look great.

I'm still planning on removing them and adding a black panel or vinyl applique on the body so the grille will be set off by a black backround behind it - looking more like an actual vent. I've been travelling - without my nitro.
