I am interested in the fog / aux light mod. I really hate the fact that the factory fogs shut off with the high beams. I was planning on installing a relay and powering them independently from the factory system but if there is a better way.....

Thanks Allan ..Allan as I had explained when I posted my mods and accessories .Two items that I had done as opposed to doing them myself. One was the window tint/ blackout & the other was the wiring for the K.C. long range lights. I had the wiring done knowing that there is the potential of doing great damage to the wiring harness and or voiding the warrenty altogether. I used a local company the does auto wiring /electric exclusivly. How or what they did is beyond me. I mounted the lights myself and delivered the remainder of the ,supplied from K.C.,wiring harness complete with illuminated switch and relay.I explained what I wanted from the lights ,complete with DRL's and turned them loose. They completed the installation for $65 .I then waited for darkness and adjusted the lights to what I wanted to see, Frankly I see no need to improve the head lights with Bright Stars or any other lights .The long range lights really reach out .They are 3000 candle power and I have them set to see about 350-400 feet along with the low beams. I like that the DRL,s come on with the key.My wife would never to remember to activate them . I have a choice of any combo that I desire .This company that I used is a smaller family owner operation with Mom,Pop, and 2 sons. The son that did my install was very efficient and capable .He is about 25 yr.of age and knows his Sh*T .They are really nice and stand up people .I think if you would call them ,they'd be happy to tell you what they did and how. they are that kind of Folk. The company name is Riley Auto Electric in Homasassa # 352-628-5663. The facility is clean and well equipted .With out a doubt the Mom will answer the phone .She's sweet as sugar and pretty as a picture .I'm sorry I just don't know which son did my work or I'd include his name. Allan I would like to add that ,you may want to use road running lights as opposed to the long range lights. Mine are really strong peepers but you CAN adjust them to whatever.

The stock fog lights are powered and protected via the computer in our cars, so making modifications to them requires bypassing the stock wiring and switch and going it yourself. (from what I have experienced) I do not want or need auxiliary lights on my bull bar. I just like the clean look of the bar. That is why I got one without a skid plate, well, that and I don't want to channel the air flow away from the oil, power steering and trans cooler that is under the bumper.
I will have little problem removing the original wiring from the loop and adding my own wiring, I was really just hoping I wouldn't have to.
First I am removing the load and go floor in the rear in favor of a removable floor with access to the two sunken compartments in the floor so that I can install the rest of my stereo in there. Then I will rewire the front lights. For now, I am off to the dealer to make them fix the damn vibrations in the door panels and the dash. I hate shoddy craftsmanship.

Allan actually I ,like you ,are curious. Only my curiousity is more tuned to ,is this person capable to perform the task ?,is his price fair and guarnteed ? ,is he insured ?, Is his facility neat and clean and lastly ,does the installation work as intended.After the installation I inspect the wiring (in this case ) tied off cleanly and or the protective conduit affored.As to how he actually performed this task is of a technical nature and probably not necessary to know because ,like the first time ,I'm not going to do another install like this one.
Regarding the Bull Bar .My thought is that it should be more than ornamental. The manner in which it attaches under the Nitro in all probabilty will cause more damage than protection if some one backs into it with any force .I can invision serious damage to the lightweight member to which it's attached.
If the Bull Bar looks unclean or if it looks unfinished with or without lights,in my opinion,is a matter of taste .But I think it's undeniable that additional lighting power can be an asset when needed. I'd much rather have them then not.
The skid plate I don't think impedes air circulation to the cooling coils to any degree.On my last SUV I installed a Cloud Rider stainless cover to protect those very coils from road debris and stones. Many people thought the same as you.It will impede air flow. 4 years later I can say ,those fears never became a reality. But I can assure you that any road debris going into that opening is coing to cause big bucks damage.
I do agree on the load N go. But I do like the storage area under .
Today I hooked my cargo trailer onto the Nitro.It weighs 2000 pounds dry. We're are getting ready to attend the state championships in Cape Coral 'I added anothe 1000 pounds of race equipment into the trailer and took it out for a test run. The Nitro acted like the trailer wasn't even there .
Good luck dealing with the Dealer .Then can be a drag. The last time I returned to a Dealer for an adjustment was 1998.Unless they have a recall ,which I have not had in a vehicle to date .I do my own work .At least I know it's being done by someone that cares.

Well did it again .Made an appointment to have a Flowmaster Muffler installed next week. They will be trying both the Super 44 and tha 40 series Delta 2 chamber. Based on comments from MCNABB and MyBluNITRO i'll probably go with the 40 Delta.
Keep Y'all informed which way I proceed..

Did you happen to take the inner door panels off? I am having a heck of a time. I am needing to remove the door handles on the exterior to install a vehicle wrap.
Very Nice Allan. I really like the gas shocks for the Hood Idea. I haven't noticed any need for sound deadener in my Nitro. Of course I'm coming from A Honda Element and they ,although a good vehicle ,suffer from road and tire noise .I did add sound control to that piece along with Michelin oversize tires. Your Nitro is bad looking machine "Fer Shur". I'd love to post a picture of my Nitro but I can't seem to get it together on this site. Our Administrator ,Linda sent me instructions on the method used to post pix but I spent 3 frustrating hours last night just to find out that I'm mentally challenged .I did the photobucket routine but with zero success . Maybe another time and place ,we shall see.
My mods and upgrades ? Exterior upgrades as follows ,Westin Bull Bar with skid plate in chrome ,Westin nerf Bars in chrome,Westin Rhino Bar in chrome,K.C long range lights mounted on the Bull Bar in chrome with chrome stone guards ,chrome/stainless door mouldings,Chrome mirror caps,Chrome door handles,Chrome Bug deflector,Chrome tail light cages,Chrome Dodge license plate frame ( under sized I had to trim the plate to fit ),Key operated chrome hitch pin,and Mopar wheel locks (Lug nuts ). Interior /exterior I have (had it done ) wired the factory fog lights ( and or ) the K.C. lights wired as day time running lights (DRL'S ) activated with the ignition on switch. This way I can chose any beam combination at night ,high,low or all three.
Interior I have tinted all side windows and rear with a total blackout .I know it's not legal but I've been getting away with it for years. I have also added eight additional tie down hooks strategically located to allow me to have two cargo nets. I tried to buy a decent cargo mat but had to return several that were pure junk. I found a 40/60 rubber backed carpet (in Black) at Wal-Mart for $14 .It fit perfectly between the newly added tie down hooks. It's thin enough to be folded so as to fit with either the rear seat uo or down. All this ,in my opinion,looks great on my 08 R/T ,4x4 Nitro in Sunburst Orange Pearl. Yesterday I completed the second coat of Teflon polish . Now even the Love Bugs can't hang on . My dealer gave me free mud guards(part of my deal ) but I haven't installed them yet.
