Just doesn't make sense to me. I have a feeling there is a way. But the dealer doesn't want to tell you that it can be done. Because they want you to pay that 1400 dollars for them to probably just click two wires together.
Sorry, I'm only a salesman, not a techie. However, I work for a Mopar authorized electronics distributor. Our territory covers about 1000 DCX dealers in the midwest. The price is a tad steep. The unit lists for $1090 with 1.5 hours to install. If you're halfway knowledgeable with this kind of stuff, you could probably install it yourself.

Scroll down to "C202-(body side) 43 way"

Check out "CAV 31-36"

I think that is what we are all looking for.

The next question might be "Where would the DVD controls be?".

Re: DVD out?

No way of knowing until you have a monitor hooked up.

Re: DVD out?

I saw this on the jeep wrangler forum.
maybe this will help to install a monitor on the 6CD/DVD player

I think you can play the system while you are driving but I don't think you can play both the DVD and radio/sireus at the same time
