Cool Yep it's a cool ride

Two weeks ago I took delivery of a new black 2008 Nitro R/T 4 x 4 Diesel, it's definitely one cool ride

Already done 2000Kms, mostly towing a large tandem axle trailer. Got to say that Diesel pulls really well

Initially I intended to buy the Petrol version, however after taking both for a test drive, I've got to say the diesel's got way more grunt, plus has the added advantage of being more economical.

Already got a few stone chips on the rear wheel arches (front part of the arch on the rear doors) from flying stone chips that fly off the front wheels. Just had the Tubular Side steps and Moulded Mud Flaps added, hopefully this will help keep the stones chips to a minimum.

My only complaint to date is, every time I wash the Nitro and dry it off, a little dribble of water keeps running from both front door mirrors for about 2 hours after drying it off............. damn annoying as it leaves a water stain on both doors ---- anyone else experienced this??

I would also like to look at the Eibach lowering kit, but understand that the Kit for the 4 x 4 model is still being developed. Does anyone know when it will be available?

Hi There, yep it's definitely an Diesel R/T......................

This particular Model is only available outside the U.S.

2.8 Common Rail Turbo Diesel - 130 Kw and 460 Nm Torque

Leaves the 3.7 V6 Petrol for dead.............!!

ok but i have a Nitro diesel but it was only made in the SXT version not RT
yes its faster then the 3.7

but i cant get mine below 1liter per 10km (but i drive short distances so thats probably why)

i live in sweden and the sxt diesel was the only one they had when i orderd one.

but its a nice ride and smooth runing diesel wery quiet fore a 4cyl diesel sound more like a 5-6cyl

Yeah you are right, it's a very smooth diesel, You would certainly not pick it as a 4 cylinder. Is your's a Manual or Auto?

On a trip with a very light foot, I have seen 8.9L per 100 km at a constant 60MPH using Cruise Control, but it normally hovers around the 9.2 to 10 mark.

i have the automatic i think thats the sensebul choice fore a SUV

the stuff about the gearbox shifting upp to early dosent sem to be a broblem
due to the higher NM

In the petrol version the engine cant handle the aut when it shifts upp to early

i have diesel with a Partikel filter i think thats why mine is upp over 1liter per 10km

i dont know if you have that filter
