2007 nitro parking brake problems

Almost right out of the gate my Dodge Nitro has a lot of slack when pulling up the parking brake. I take it to my dealer and the service advisor says they compared it to others on the lot and they all feel the same. What a crock of s__t!! My wife takes the vehicle in for the second time and she ask them to fix the parking brake, it will not hold at all now. she explained to them that our drive way is on an incline and being the nitro is a manual transmission we need the brake. The service advisor this time tried to tell my wife that there is no adjustment for the parking brake and that they have already replaced some cables on another nitro with no help. He said that there is no fix for it. He also explained that "as cars get older the parking brakes loosen up". What a bigger crock of s__t!!!! What does this guy think we are???? I wished I would have been there. I would have politely explained to him how parking brakes work and that I have a 1973 Dodge Dart parked right next to this 2007 Nitro with parking brake that works as good as new. ("as cars get older the parking brakes loosen up", my a__!!!!) So I bring to this forum, anyone else having parking brake problems?

respectfully,
gakuhlbreeze

The parking brake on my R/T works as it should. It has never needed adjusting. It sounds to me as if you need to find another dealer.

I have read on other forums that owners have successfully had their parking brake cables adjusted by shortening the cable at the end at the brake handle itself. This was done by a dealership. The one you have been using obviously does not know how to to do this. Visit a different dealership.

Dodgy brakes on my dodge nitro!

Had my brand new Nitro for about an hour and noticed how poor the hand brake was. I booked the car back into the dealership and they had a go at it there and then. 90 mins later the car was returned with comments about how complex the handbrake is on the nitro! Anyway a week later and it is as bad as before - needs to be pulled right up to hold on a hill. Now my foot brake is getting spongy. Most disconcerting. Is this a common fault?

[Although i havent had any problem with the brake itself, the zipper on the otherhand has been a total piece of crap!I just came from the N.Y auto show and i wanted to see if Dodge changed the design? Wouldn`t ya know it the actual Nitro that was there had a broken Zipper! Hahaha and it was brandnew! What a joke!
