BREAKING NEWS - Lifetime Powertrain Warranty

This was just announced at our Chrysler coporate headquarters.

Starting today, July 26, Chrysler will offer our customers in the United States a new Lifetime Powertrain Warranty on most new Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge vehicles.

The program will be the first of its kind offered by any automaker, and it will apply to most new model-year 2006, 2007 and 2008 vehicles purchased from dealer inventory on or after July 26, 2007. The warranty will cover the cost of all parts and labor needed to repair covered powertrain components.

You should hear more details in the press.

More info:

The new warranty is limited to the first registered owner or retail lessee. To maintain warranty coverage, the owner must have a powertrain inspection performed free of charge by an authorized Chrysler, Jeep or Dodge dealer once every five years. Vehicles will continue to have the three-year/36,000-mile Basic Limited Warranty for other components.

Well going to take another look tomorrow at a new Nitro R/T even if I can not get FT 4WD. The 08 Jeep Liberty has it but not the Nitro looks I want. See that the $750 Rebate is still good too. With this and the new warranty I may save what I loose by buying a 07 over ordering a 08. Looks like the Dealer has a fully-loaded one in stock and that is what I would have ordered. If this doesn't pan-out then I just don't know what I would buy or order from any car company! Guess I'm just hard to please.

In 7 months, I wonder How many sale it has cost Dodge.......They don't care........Well why should I...................One P--ssed off Nitro owner, Wolfie

Make sure you buy an extended warranty (chryslerwarranty.com). Based on some of our experiences, you will need it. Good luck on your purchase...
