Re: What engine should go in the Nitro SRT?

Force induction is the same thing,

It being a normal exhuast driven turbo

Belt driven root/blower/twin screw top mounted superchargers

or a

Belt driven Centrifugal type supercharger which looks like a turbo setup

Hate to tell you this, but you will never get the 3.2L SRT-6 motor from the Crossfire in the Nitro. For one, it is a Mercedes Benz motor since the Crossfire is a pervious generation Mercedes Benz SLK.

While the 5.7L HEMI is a great idea, and proved they could do it with the concept that showed up at SEMA. However, the 4.0L was designed to equip an optional turbocharger. Chrysler Group is already testing another lineup of extreme horsepower V-6 engines to replace the current ones. The 4.0L was also designed to be able to take direct injection as well.

I could see a 4.0L turbocharged V-6 w/ direct injection good for 350 horsepower in the Nitro. Time will tell though. Chrysler Group is already trying to build up there SRT-lineup again w/ holes from the Dodge Ram SRT-10 Regular Cab and Quad Cab!

Re: What engine should go in the Nitro SRT?

That would rock, SRT6 Nitro. They would have to get rid of the plastic intake and lower the compression form 10.2:1 to something around 9:1 for low pressure or 8:1 for a high pressure system for starters.

I would love a SRT model, but since there isn't even rumors about one. I'll end up with a R/T model for 24k after discount.

If there is a SRT nitro. Think dodge should go with an eaton blown 4L V6 with like 330 horsepower and like 350lbs of torque.

As much as I'd love to see one I'm not sure the money is there for R&D for a motor, being such a small volume piece, with lots of time and money going into the next gen ones.

I'd say the next gen phoenix engines, and the new trannies will lend themselves to hi po versions, as well as higher performance base models.

So I'm preparing for a wait.
