Lorenzo is out, Rossi to test bike at Sepang
KUALA LUMPUR: Motor racing fans hoping to watch Fiat Yamaha Racing Team’s Jorge Lorenzo in action at the second MotoGP pre-season test at the Se****pang International Circuit (SIC) will be disappointed.
The rider will not be taking part in the three-day Sepang test beginning today as he is still recovering from surgery in his right hand following an accident while training in Barcelona on Feb 11.
SIC chief executive officer Ahmad Razlan Ahmad Razali said in a statement here yesterday that only the team’s key rider, Valentino Rossi, would participate in the Sepang test.
Rossi was the fastest among the premier class riders in the first test on Feb 4 and 5.
After the second test here, the teams and their riders will start the final test at the Losail Circuit in Qatar on March 18-19 before the new season begins on April 11 at the same circuit.
SIC will host the 15th leg of the race on Oct 10.
