2.8 CRD fuel filter changing

Hi, has anyone changed a fuel filter on a 2.8 diesel (Right hand drive particularly) ?
It has a shield around it and it doesn't look like there's room for the (spin on) filter to be removed through the bottom of the shield?
Any advice?

now that i think about it , my dealer had to replace 2 fuel lines with quick connects that go to the filter housing, perhaps he broke them trying to get the whole filter housing off so he could change the filter?????

Hi, could you fix it?
I just bought one with a 2.8 diesel engine (LHD), have you had any trouble with the engine or transmission? Regards!
