Exclamation Another Problem with my nitro.. ESB light..

Today while coming home I had the ESP/BAS light and the little squiggly tracton control light come on.. This is the 2nd time that this had happened... Has anyone else expierenced this?????? The first time it went off a couple of hours later..I saw something about a recall for ABS.....I did get ahold of the dealer and he said "Uh oh" on the phone.... Makes me feel good....lol taking it in tuersday... But can anyone give me any input if anyone knows what might be causing this???

Damn thing....:(

We are also having a problem with our Nitro the engine light and the gauges stop working the abs light , the esp light were all on. So got the recalls taken care of and was told we need a new abs module , booked into today but now engine is making clunking sound, mechanic says we need new engine....what the hell we haven't even had it a year....very sad we love our Nitro, thats what we get for buying a vehicle the first year its out eh!!... Hopefully it will work out. Maybe we got a dud...

Were you driving on slippery road? I've had my Nitro for a month now and had the ESP/BAS come on in the first week as I turned into the driveway at work. It's not happened since as I've flicked into FWD just as I turn if I see a patch of ice there.

Hi my esp/bas light came on this morning after i started it. Now what's up with this I have been in and out of the garage for so much stuff including the recalls.
I was just in the garage last week for inspection since then everything has been great with my nitro except im still dealing with the sluggishness around 42 mph which drives me nuts because they told me its just the way this rig drives to get used to it. So to my surprise this morning when the light came on for the esp/bas and the icon with the car slipping.. Hopefully its just a fluke because its been fine. I will call the garage if its still on when i leave work today. Its such a pain in the arse..........But then again first year out I should have waited for the 08's. anyways love this site. The information helps when the mechanic's cant figure out whats wrong i just print out the TSB and bring it in with me.

2008 has issue as well! I've had my 08 Nitro R/T since DEC.07, one month after owning it the ABS,ESP,Traction control lights came on? Called dealer they said "don't worry computer needs to flashed when you come in for first oil change we will take care of it". OK! Fast foward to begining of March take her in and the list of isues are as follows,( Lights for ABS,ESP on and off 20 times, stalled going up driveway, leather seat cushion very loose,Mygig stereo shuts off or won't have sound, tires out of balance, brake feel like poop!) Get a call following day well your truck is done and we had to order some parts?
1.ABS module, 2.Stereo, 3.seat cushion, Work done reflashed computer for stalling, didn't balance tires??,brakes were to spec?(BS!)
1 month later get a call parts in! Take truck in get parts installed ask to have tires balanced again? Following day get truck back they didn't balance tires because tech put truck up on lift and found no loose suspension parts or hardware? Go 2 miles down the road and ABS,ESP,TracCont lights come on?
Turn around go back to dewaler and as "IS THIS A JOKE?" Service manager tells me to "calm down, your over reacting" Now I'm pissed!! They send me home with the truck and order another module.I drive the truck a few weeks waiting for another module and in the meantime almost crash because the ESP system decided to kick in while going over a rough driving surface and the right front brake tried stablizeing vehicle towards a cement wall so I stear left to avoid destroying truck. SO! I call dealer scared and very pissed off and explain what just happened. Service writer tells me to stop over reacting and we will call you when module comes in and hangs up!
1 more week later I'm tired of waiting and call to speak with service manager to give him a piece of my mind and tell him if the part does not show up I will be glad to take to another dealer. Manager asuures me it will be taken care of and the part just so happened to show as we were speaking?
I drop truck off and get loaner car. 15 days later I finally get my truck back? Here is why??? They installed another module and it blew out, installed 3 more and they blew out? Finally someone decided to check harness and find out it has a short in "SO THEY SAY?" they ordered 1 more module and god knows what else and get truck back to me.
In the meantime I called a Lawyer to see if I have a Lemmon case and =f it goes in one more time then I do or if it spends 4 more days in the shop then YES! SORRY for long story but needed to educate those who maybe getting the cold shoulder on something that is serious or an issue.
GOOD LUCK!

2008 nitro, esp-bas light

I own a 2008 nitro. Ihave had it in the shop 7 times because the lights keep coming on. They have flashed the modules to input new codes, didn't work... replaced a couple modules, didn't work... have ordered new steering angle sensor... will let you know what happens. Also have factory radio 1 disc, sattellite radio, quit working in less than 3 months.... ordering new radio. Talked to the dealer about lemon law and they said it would be hard to convince Chrysler to do a by-back, since they are still hanging parts on the vehicle. Gets really frustrating when you spend so much time at the dealer....

They are bullshitting you!!! What state do you live in? NJ law is 3 times for same issue or 20 days in the shop and it's a LEMON! I needed 3 mores days or one more visit for same problem. Have them check wireing harness??? They finally did that with mine after installing 4 or 5 modules and someone finally got smart and checked the harness. Talk to a LEMON LAW Lawyer!!
I am so fed up considering my tires are still out of balance and the brakes work for shit!!!!

That light just went on today while my boyfriend and I were out for lunch. I just sent a quick email to the service manager at my dealership. I hope it's something that he can fix right away.
