Any help/advice please-rear brake drum

Hello there I have a 2007 model Nitro but having problems with the handbrake I was told by the dealership new shoes were needed as well as pads but when stripped down pads weren't really that worn I've had a garage look at it today but unable to remove the drum. May sound a silly question but whats the best way any advice would be gratefully received.

If I remember correctly there were issues in 07 with the hand brake that a Dealership should know how to address. As far as removing the drum they should also know. A special puller needed? Good Luck!

I have never used my hand brake once and may never since it is an automatic transmission.

Also I have rear disc brakes so that may help too....

As far as I know the park brake on mine is a drum brake inside the disk hub. And as far as i know the stop mechanism in the "park" of an auto Trans is a pin about 4mm thick! (correct me if i'm wrong someone) and they should not be trusted on their own!
Having said that, the park brake on my 2007 (M.Y.08) is absolutely useless! I tow a 2 tonne 4400lbs boat and if you ask me the park brake should be able to hold the car and it's load hooked up to it (their rated to 2270kg / 4994lbs after all!) on a bit of slope. But the park brake can't even hold the car its self. I pray the mechanism in the transmission is stronger than i've been brought up to believe.
Usually the disk / drum should be able to be removed once the park brake shoes have been adjusted down (made smaller)

hand brake is very important in all ways
first u can make ur parking safe by pulling the hand brake then shift to park this thing is usefull preventing the shift gear be harmed

if u find it's not working good the handbrake u have 2 options to do

1: u can calibrate from rear wheels by pulling of the rotors
2: u can calibrate from inside the car by removing the surrounding cover of the shift just pull it up it's 4 pin to unlockit, then there is screws inside the middle box between the driver seat and front passenger
then u will be able to access the lever of hand brake
