WOW! I guess anything is possible, but this is far from usual. You should receive a brand new crate motor under warranty and a free rental car! Let us know here how it all turns out. If you want to call Chrysler, do so now. Under the "New Chrysler 6/10 Thread" there is a listing of all the new (as of today) in charge of Service & Warranty. Could come in handy.

Welcome and sorry you had to start off on a sour note. GOOD LUCK!

I Feel for ya.

I have an 08 Nitro with 34 thou miles on it. Last night the engine started knocking and loudly at that. Chrysler Road side assistance is having it towed today to the dealer. I dont know if its a rod knock or if it is the same noise other people are complaining about. It could be several things.....At any rate the oil has been changed at regular intervals and the oil is full now and its not even due for an oil change for another 1000 miiles. The milage has all been highway miles and I havent "beat it" in any way ....... I am not a happy customer at this point. Thank god this is not my only vehicle .......
