Nitro valve stems

I have had problems with my '08 Nitro valve stem s as two of the caps were basically welded on. I tried to lubricate and pry with channel locks only to break off the cap exposing the Schrader valve(not good) There seems to be a wide spread problem with this because mopar has changed the design (without telling owners) and they are now black in color and mfgd in Ireland as I just went up to my dealership today and purchased one. $66.00!!! I don't trust the after market stems because a huge price difference- anywhere from $4.00 to $17.00. Anyone else had this issue?

You can not put metal caps on these stems. You have to stick with plastic, as you are experiencing the results of swapping out the caps.
I wish that there was more information out there concerning this!
