Sirius Radio Problem - Please help

Hello all,

I am new to this forum and to Dodge. I have been a loyal ford driver all my life but could not resist trading my mustang off on a 2008 Dodge Nitro R/T.

I have two specific questions:

#1- My Nitro is equipped with Sirius Satellite Radio. I phoned the ESN number in to activate it but the problem is when I push the SAT button on the radio, absolutely nothing happens. It doesn't matter what mode I am in (AM/FM/CD), nothing happens at all. No message, no change on display nothing. I can not find anything on this topic.

#2- My radio has the uconnect buttons on it, but not sure if there is a mic in the vehicle anywhere. I spoke to dodge customer care on this and they said i should only have to buy the module for the uconnect and have them set it up and then it should work. Does this sound correct to you?

Oh and my radio says RES in the bottom right corner of it so I am presuming it is a RES model radio.

Any information would be greatly appreciated. I am a mechanic myself but know nothing about the sirius satellite issues etc. in these vehicles and I have talked to a couple dodge service managers and they were throwing ridiculous ideas about the problem at me.

Thanks.

Welcome Drafterhess!

Did find a Sirius Radio MoPar Install kit for a RES type radio from Chrysler. Do not know if your radio already has this.

Sorry don't know anything about a Nitro RES type radio but great Links on updating or Nitro's equipped with MYGIG and UCONNECT. This could be an option but I'm sure more than what you may want to spend, or even an option you may not want. Good Luck.
