Rear Wind deflector problem..

I have the rear wind deflector on my R/T and one side is loose. Just wondering if anyone has seen or fixed this problem. The hardware does not seem to be the greatest for keeping it locked into the roof.

WarriorBob is the only other member that I definitely know has one of those. He put his on himself. Loctite on the nut should help.

did you use the small little tool included with the kit to compress the inserts into the sheetmetal?
as you tighten down the insert with the tool (using the allen wrench) it expands the insert and fits it tight to the sheet metal.
my inserts are nice and tight and the rear deflector is nice and tight and works great

Tool? What tool? All I had was the Allen wrench, inserts and screws...Oh well, I used the old stand by JP Weld last night since it was about to fall off.
I taped off around the holes and "welded" the inserts into the holes. Seems to be working so far...
Sure would have been easier with that tool....

i am trying to remember the directions....but if i remember correct their was a small block that you placed over the insert once you drilled the hole in the sheetmetal and placed the insert in the hole
you then screwed the allen bolt into the insert and held the block with a open end wrench
this kept the insert pushed down into the sheetmetal and kept it from spinning while you tightened the bolt
this mushroomed the insert and expanded it and fit it tight to the sheetmetal
you then remove the bolt and the block and you have the insert nice and tight
then you just install the defelector
