Audio/ Video/ Navigation / Electronics DiscussionDiscuss the Nitro A/V and navigation system here, along with other items such as custom installations, alarms, radar detectors, etc.
First off, let me say "Hey" to everyone on the boards.
Ok...just bought a 2011 Nitro Heat 4.0 less than a week ago. Came with RES radio, Uconnect (functional and paired to phone already), Sirius (also working).
But I can't figure out for the life of me what Ipod cable I need to control everything through the head unit or if mine should have come with one already. Anyone know?
I have been all over these boards and other Dodge boards but can't any info on the 2011 models.
Many thanks in advance,
balddave
EDIT: Forgot to mention that I have the upgraded Infinity sound system with subwoofer. Not sure if that makes a difference.
Since I don't use a Ipod I'm not much help, but I believe the radio set-up you have is basically the same from 2007 - 2011 so if you find any info, it would not be just for the 2011 model. Hope this helps some. Good Luck and thanks for your post. Maybe someone else here has an answer for you.
P.S. I'm sure Chrysler would not furnish this cable free-of-charge.

Thanks for the reply. I will look into these. The first one I have seen before but not sure if it will do what I want. The dealer told me the only one available for my Nitro was the FM modulated cable and I'm trying to figure out if that is true or not. Seems there should be a cable to allow control through the head unit.

That's the one I think I need but can't find out for sure. I also can't find my Uconnect module (or I would buy that cable and try it out). I know for sure it's not behind the glove box on the right because I looked more than once to make sure I was looking in the right spot. It's either behind the head unit or in the back by the subwoofer (forgot to mention I have the upgraded Infinity sound system, if that even makes a difference).
Are there any pics available of the actual Uconnect module? I have no idea what I'm looking for other than what's outlined in those pictures.
OK balddave I would think it was part of the radio but I reviewed the Nitro Service Manual and found nothing on Uconnect, but found these pages on "Hands Free Module". Don't know if this has any association on what you are looking for but it is located inside the right rear inside quarter trim, and not around the glove box. Hope this is of some help!

Rick you are the man! I really appreciate your help and I apologize for it taking so long to get back to you. Found the unit, decided I didn't want to mess with it and now I'm thinking about putting my Avic Z2 from my old car in instead or selling that and buying a new head unit.
