I just purchased a Dodge and with it received the uConnect Bluetooth it was working ok but after 1 week it's been a disaster... I can press the phone button, and say a name "mum" it will then say "9..1..*..4"... I keep clearing and trying names and no luck. I then cancel the entire call and try again and voila it works... Any ideas?
The iPhone is using the latest version... The stereo is the REQ and my dealership told me I can't do anything because this can't be updated... sounds pretty strange to me. Do you know if this is true? Can I find the Software Version that the REQ is using?

Is this the type of radio you have? What year and model vehicle do you have?
Chrysler Dodge Jeep Radio 6 Disc REQ Cd6 Mp3 07-09 DVD
WOW I would think any 2010 would have a MyGig but if it came from stock, some Dealers will order anything. I was in the car business many years ago and couldn't believe what some sales managers ordered! Hell it took several software updates to get the iPhone to work with the MyGig RER GPS radio in my Nitro. Do you have a Nitro?
Your radio is from another supplier and really thought they were no longer being installed. I have listed some more LINKS below from our library here that may be of some help. If only you had a RER radio! Will do some more checking for you and post if I find anything.
Since now I know you have a 2010 I would think the radio is iPhone compatible and you need to look again upgrading your phone. Could there be a TSB on this?
Had to do this with a new phone and Wife's 2010 Ford Taurus Limited with SYNC. Had to buy a new phone and that new phone then had to be upgraded to work. Was a big hassle.
Maybe contact your phone carrier is the best bet. They should know how to make your phone hook up to a new 2010! (if it's not new they will want to extend your contract with another newer phone I bet) I really thought you must have had a 2007 Dodge ? and that was that was the issue. Lots have changed in the last three years with in-car radios and wireless phones. You need to supply more info in the future and your Dealer is not the one to ask.
Also there are several good phone "Phone Discussion Groups" online that may answer and address your issue. Again I now doubt that this is a radio issue, but a phone issue, but I could be wrong.
Good Luck and I'm sure it can be corrected and when it does please post your resolve here to help others.
Thanks so much for the detailed reply... the dealership is actually saying that it could be to do with the iPhone but also the fact I have this system which doesn't have a HD and isn't easy to update. They have suggested I get the REZ as this has better compatibility over all. Is this true? Obviously the REZ looks to be a killer system so wouldn't mind upgrading but would love an opinion. Also If I get the REZ installed can you then move up to an REP or are they completely different systems?

You can update to the RER (very pleased with mine with GPS and satellite radio plus updated traffic) but it is a real hassle, as one of our members here has done at his Dealership and the cost is close to 2K! Even if purchased from e-Bay at a much lower cost it become very involved with wiring harness and usually changing the mirror because of the RER mic being there. There are some Links here and kits available but again even Dealers have problems when attempting to change out and switch between two vehicles in stock!
I did look and found no TSB on your radio compatibility with phones issued by Chrysler. With my Wife's car the Verizon tech even came out to the car to merge the phone to the car and couldn't, but found how to over three weeks and three attempts that involved another phone and a software update. Think she was glad to get out of the building and was really into customer service. Maybe you could be that lucky too! I was so impressed by her actions that I gave her a tip, and also sent Verizon a Thank You with her name and they responded that it would go into her personnel file.
Again Good Luck!
PS 2010 is the last year for the present Mygig Nitro GPS radio with a new system as the new 2011 Jeep. see 2011 Nitro What's new
And YES the REZ would be a killer update!

I've beeen using the Tour for the last four months and it set up and worked fine with U-connect.
Last week, it dialed the name I requested and didn't do anything other than start the call timer. I was able to disconnect the call from the buttons on the My-G, but brought it to Dodge where they pulled the entire unit and put in a new one. Okay, lost all my presets and stuff on the drive (cause they didn't say they were replacing it) and it is doing the same thing, and now it is a problem shutting it off. Screen on My-G stays in the connected status mode, timer running.
Tried pairing with a different phone and it works fine.
Other than try a new Blackberry can anyone shed some light on this problem?
