Trying to get uconnect and nav..getting no answers from dealer
I bought a 2011 Nitro Heat last week. I have the touch screen radio, I believe it's the 430N. I am trying to find out what steps/ parts I need to take/get in order to get the voice activated commands, phone and navigations. Is the navigation even possible built into this system? Would I have to get a whole new steering wheel in order to have the buttons on the steering wheel? My salesman didn't know jack about the car when I bought it so I got no information whatsoever. I should've went to a different dealer but lesson learned. Now I'm trying to make the car the way I want it. They didn't offer any other models/cars that had the features I wanted. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I would go to another Dealer's Service Department or Parts Department. You are talking about customer pay, and if they want your business and can see that you are serious, you should find some help. This is not the first time for this issue (look around). Good Luck!

Your radio is mygig without Navigation. You can not add Navigation to this radio. You would have to replace your radio with a 730N, to have a mygig with Navigation, and I believe these run around $2,000. Maybe you can get your dealer to let you trade up, giving you credit for your radio, which could help you save a little money. You will have to replace your steering wheel, and you will need the necessary harness to plug into the radio. Also, you'll need the rear view mirror which contains the microphone for the Uconnect, and you will need the harness to plug the mirror into the radio. I believe the Uconnect module is actually incorporated into your radio, as well as the 730N radio, so I find it hard to believe that Uconnect is not already activated.

Thanks for you advice. I contacted a different dealer who gave me the price of $407 for the hands free uconnect kit, $145 for installation. I asked him if that was the correct price even though I already have the touch screen radio with the correct buttons. So he is emailing Chrysler with my VIN to see what my other options are as far as to adding the 730N. He didn't have on record that that's what they were called. I let him know I got the terms 430N and 730N from the Nitro manual. Waiting to hear back from him, he just emailed Chrysler this morning. I'll keep you posted..

This is NOT, I repeat NOT, the Uconnect kit for your radio. This kit is only for a non-touch screen radio with out the two Uconnect buttons. Tell the dealer you have the Uconnect module built into your radio. In order for you to hook up Uconnect, you will need the rear view mirror with the microphone and the correct harness to connect the mirror to your radio. Once this is installed, the dealer can starscan your Nitro and the Uconnect should work. I know this because I am also trying to hook up my Uconnect, but my non touch screen radio has the two Uconnect buttons, so I need a different kit which costs about 1/2 the price of what you were quoted. I can not hook the rear view mirror with microphone to my radio. I have to use an external mic that comes with the kit I need.
As a side note, for what it's worth, I had the steering wheel buttons on two of my previous Jeeps, and I never used them. Keep us informed as to what you find out.
I just looked it up. There is a 730N radio with Nav and Uconnect. It is coded RER. It appears there are two 430 radios. The first is 430, coded RBZ, and the second is 430N, coded RHB. I don't know what the difference is between these two radios, other than the 430N has Navigation, but I do not know how it is added. Both 430 radios have built in Uconnect, although it may not be hooked up at the factory. I read somewhere, that Chrysler now offers two Navigation systems, one built by Garmin and one by another company. I'd guess that the 430N has one system and the 730N has the other. More fuel for your fire. You are one step ahead of me, in that you have a touch screen radio, and I don't.

Thanks for the help
You can get the mirror at the dealer. Or...........
Once you click on the Mopar link (see above), find Nitro Accessories. Under electronics, you can find the mirror and the harness to hook it to your radio.
There should be a PDF for the instructions. The mirror is easy. Running the harness down to the radio may prove to be difficult. Good luck.
