Yes I too received in the mail today info from NAVTEQ that since my vehicle is one year old I need to update my GPS map in my NITRO. It states
"Thousands of updates, One low price". I don't think that $199 plus $9.95 shipping is anywhere close to being a low price! Others have voiced the same here and in other "Discussion Groups". One thing you can do is check (in-the-box) on-line to see what Cities have been updated on their Website with this July 2008 map. For mine it would be catalog # U0035-0070-801 and no changes are even shown for my home City. It could be worth the expense for some I guess, but with new GPS units falling in price everyday and some being updated free after the purchase "On-Line" I don't understand this very high price of $199.00!
Time will tell, but there should be a special deal to update now like 50% off. Also MOPAR should be selling these as an accessory at a reduced price. As an early adapter I am accustom to paying more to have the latest, but going to pass on this one. I suspect most others will too.

Correction:
I stand corrected! I just checked to see about updating my Lowrance IWay 500C portable GPS unit that I have updated at least twice free "On-Line" and now find they are no longer free! The cost however for the updating CD is a more reasonable $74.99 plus shipping.
