Surprise! Lancia shows up in Detroit wearing Chrysler badge

This Lancia Delta, an European sedan, showed up wearing Chrysler badging just to show how Fiat's cars can fit into the U.S. lineup
One of the most head-turning cars to show up in the North American International Auto Show already is a new Chrysler. Well, not really new if you're in Europe.

The Lancia/Chrysler has a styling rear treatment.
It's an Italian Lancia Delta rebadged as a Chrysler. It's being tried out to see how it will be accepted by journalists and the public alike. As sedans go, it's as stylish as they come. Italy's Fiat, which has management control of Chrysler, has talked about bringing over some of its better models. As far back as October, rumors started coming out that the Delta could be on the way:
Autoblog said with the appointment of Lancia CEO Olivier Francois as head of the Chrysler motor division that greater cooperation between the companies could be expected.
"Word on the Italian street is that the current Lancia Delta could make it over here – together with the Fiat 500 and a handful of Alfa Romeos – as a Chrysler," Autoblog wrote.
We expect it will be well received -- if it can be priced in the affordable range.
