NORFOLK — — The Chrysler Museum of Art announced Friday that it will embark on a $24 million expansion and renovation project designed to add 8,000 square feet of exhibit space to its landmark Italianate building.
Slated to begin in July, the 22-month project also will renew all of the museum's existing galleries — which total nearly 60,000 square feet — as well as replace its antiquated environmental-control systems and relocate, expand and modernize its cafe, Chrysler Director William J. Hennessey said.[/COLOR]
