Chrysler Group LLC again has been named one of the “100 Best Companies for Working Mothers” by Working Mother magazine. This year marks the 12th time the Chrysler Group has achieved this prestigious benchmark, and the second consecutive year the company is the only automaker to be included on the list.
“Being recognized by Working Mother as one of the ‘100 Best’ is truly an honor and validates Chrysler Group’s commitment to work-life effectiveness,” Nancy Rae, Executive Vice President—Human Resources, said. “We take great pride in providing programs and resources that help our employees balance the demands of work and family. Together with the UAW, we have consistently provided progressive work-life programs, understanding that employees will be more productive and engaged when they have peace of mind at home.”
In particular, Working Mother recognized the Chrysler Group’s efforts to provide innovative programs focused on employee and family needs, including a broad range of support services, child-care and elder-care referral programs and its National Child Care Network. The Chrysler Group offers working mothers a variety of flexible work options from flex time to job-sharing to help employees be successful in both their professional and personal lives.
“The UAW places a high priority on addressing issues at the bargaining table that improve the quality of life for our members and their families,” UAW Vice President General Holiefield, director of the union’s Chrysler Department, said. “We’re very proud to work with Chrysler Group to provide ‘people programs’ that help employees maintain a healthy balance in fulfilling their job and family responsibilities.“
This year marks the 24-year anniversary for the “Best Companies” list, which is considered the benchmark for work-life practices in corporate America. Celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2008, Working Mother magazine reaches more than 2 million readers and is the leading national magazine for career-committed mothers.
“Women are an important part of the Chrysler Group’s commitment to diversity and inclusion, and we are privileged to be able to continue the legacy,” Rae added. “While we still face many challenges, the Chrysler Group’s commitment to diversity and inclusion will continue to be a source of resilience and competitive advantage for our company.”
