2" Drop

Got my Eibach Lowering springs put on about a week ago. Needs to have an alignment done, and holy shit does it ride rough. Its like sitting in the back of the school bus sometimes. Anyways. It looks 100% better and it makes the 20's look bigger. Hope this helps some of you out.

anyway of putting those pics through the board instead of a seperate link? Some of us use the board from work and the filters catch them.. I was thinking of doing this to my truck and would love to see it.

Hi - looks mean! Can you give us the specs on your wheels? I like the look of them.
You mention the rough ride. What year is yours? All of the 2011's come with 20" wheels and a performance suspension; thicker roll bars, bushings, etc. Mine runs rough enough the way it is! My Jeep Commander rode smoother than my Nitro, but the Nitro does handle better.

Hello, sblasz,

Your Ride looks very nice with the lowering.

I know about the Comfort Loss, much of my Nitro Colleagues here have changed back to the original Springs (our average Age of Nitro Drivers here is between 45 and 50...).

Hey,

Thanks for the compliments.
To answer you questions - The wheels are 20" American Racing Villans, when I bought the truck it had 16" stock wheels. The tires are Yokohoma Prada Spec X. Size- 255/45/20. No rubbing, run quiet, and have great traction even in the slight snow/slush, and water.

As far as the suspension goes, I made it about 4 months..... I could not handle the ride, it was ridiculous, my gf actually got sick a couple times because it was so terrible. I am only 23 years old and it was just too much.... The downside to having the lower springs on it besides the ride, was my shocks got absolutely wrecked. I bought Bilstein shocks(AMAZING) and put the stock springs back on. The ride is night and day. I will suggest to anybody that lowers their truck to read this post and do the research on it. I didn't think it would be near as bad as it was, and it was actually 1000X worse than I can even describe.

As the saying goes in the mod world..You have to pay to play. So ya pretty much dropping any vehicle is going to give you that same result. On the other hand, my Tundra is bagged and lays frame, but rides better than stock!

Thanks for the info - very informative. I really like those wheels - what is the offset compared to stock? I believe the stock are +40 mm. But, first I would need to find a home for my 20" chrome "pimp" wheels!

From what I read, stocks are +40. So anything from down to around +18 should work, unless you are going with a 10" wide wheel. Discount Tire Direct sells them in that range, and they test fit everything they sell along with Tire Rack.
