Well I'm surprised but I bought a real expensive Factory Scheduled Maintenance Contract for my Nitro and it DOES state this service is covered @ 15K. The reason I had to look it up is I only have 10K on it after more than two years. I made the mistake of purchasing a 100,000/7 year plan. I did it, not the Dealership! My plan pays for an oil & filter change every three months regardless of miles!
Thanks for making me feel better about my purchase!
In your Nitro owner's manual it should state what is recommended. If you have the Lifetime Powertrain Warranty I would think this would be a requirement. If you do not have this Factory Warranty, I guess you could pass but if there was an issue before 3 years or 36,000 miles with the front or rear axles maybe your Dealer could cancel your Factory Warranty. My Plan shows this same service is to be performed @ 30,000, 60,000, and 90,000 miles. (don't think I will ever see the last two!) Transfer Case refill @ 30,000 miles could get you too.
Sorry for the bad news, but my Plan says you are good for 102,000 miles for spark plugs, wires, and timing belt. Ha Ha
Hope this helps, but not what both of us would have thought.
Thanks for your Post.
