11 worst cars - Consumer Reports
5 of 11 Dodge Nitro SLT
• Consumer Reports: The 10 best cars
Score: 33
Highs: None
Lows: Ride, handling, braking, noise, fuel economy, fit and finish, visibility, access, reliability
The Nitro is a version of the Jeep Liberty with cosmetic changes and without low-range all-wheel-drive setting for driving off-road.
Consumer Reports found nothing particularly commendable in the Nitro - at least the Liberty was good off-road- but it scored slightly higher because the version the magazine tested had some comfort trim options lacking in the Liberty, said Consumer Reports vehicle tester Jake Fisher.

Consumer Reports tested dead last in a comparison against all paper products used for cat box liners.

It's not my opinion, it's Consumer Reports. I personally like the car or I wouldn't have bought one.
But a lot of people believe everything they print in that magazine so it might be one of the reasons for the car's demise.

I understand this. I stopped reading CR when they made the Isuzu Rodeo tip over. I stopped watching NBC when they made the Chevy Pickup gas tanks explode!

I thonk tue dodge nitro will have its followers similar to die hard jeep wrangler fans. The nitro for what you pay for is a bargain compared to same priced mid size suv.

And how many Jeep Wranglers and Liberties go off road to want the low range transfer case anyway? I was a Jeep man for 15 years before the Nitro and have had no issues compared to my Jeeps.
