All Four Manufacturers Pull Financial Support for NASCAR Nationwide Series and Truck Series

Toyota has become the final auto manufacturer to announce that it will pull all financial support from the NASCAR truck series and Nationwide Series.
The company, like the three American brands that have already made similar announcements, will continue to provide some engineering support, but no overt financing. We weren’t too shocked to hear that the truck series is not high on the list of things to support, but the Nationwide series is the last fire line before the sacred cow starts to get burned up.
There have already been rumors floating about multi-car teams getting their shrink on pretty quickly in order to lean their operations out and weather the storm.
Make no mistake, manufacturers still play a massive financial role in the sport, even though the cars that their racers are driving do not appear to be anything made in the last 50 years.
