GM will resume leasing in August

General Motors Co., the reorganized automaker majority-owned by the U.S. government, said it expects to return to leasing in August, the Detroit Free Press reported.
GM stopped the practice in August 2008 after plunging vehicle resale values contributed to a $15.5-billion second-quarter loss last year, the paper said. Leasing accounted for more than a quarter of the automaker’s U.S. sales in the first half of 2008, the story said. (Detroit Free Press)
