New rules set for air travelers

The Business Travel department sent the following e-mail to employees and contractors in the United States and Canada today:
Business travelers will be asked to provide additional information when making reservations for air travel beginning Aug. 4.
This is in preparation of a program federally mandated by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Transportation Security Administration (TSA). The mission of Secure Flight is to enhance the security of air travel through the use of improved watch list matching. This is a process in which airline passengers are prescreened. Secure Flight matches limited passenger information against watch lists maintained by the federal government. Secure Flight will serve to prevent individuals on the No Fly List from boarding an aircraft and will subject individuals on the Selectee List to enhanced screening in order to determine if they are permitted to board an aircraft.
TSA Required Information:
Full name
Date of birth
Gender
Redress Number optional (A Redress Number is a TSA-issued code given to certain passengers whose names appeared on the watch list, but have been cleared. Affected passengers often have the same or similar name to someone on the watch list.)
For those with Internet access, additional information on the Redress Program can be found at
DHS | DHS Traveler Redress Inquiry Program (DHS TRIP) and
TSA | Transportation Security Administration | U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
Beginning Aug. 4, you will be able to update your travel profile (in Cliqbook) with the required information so you do not have to give the same information every time a new reservation is made. You will not be able to complete a reservation online if the TSA information is missing in the profile.
