Recall Alert: Aston Martin
Aston Martin Recalls Select Models
Oct 07, 2010
Quote:
As 2010 continues to prove it’s the year of recalls, not even high-end performance vehicles are excluded from the infectious mix. The legendary carmaker for James Bond, Aston Martin, is recalling 1,090 select DB9, DBS and V8 Vantage models from 2007 and 2008.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, “The front bottom suspension arm cam bolt could crank along its shank allowing the lower control arm to move.” This movement could impact control of the car’s steering and increase the risk of a crash.
The Financial Times writes that the company describes the recall as “precautionary,” and should take less than an hour to repair. Additionally, Aston Martin says it doesn’t know of any cases of the bolt malfunctioning “anywhere in the world.”
“As always, dealers will replace the bolt free of charge. The recall is scheduled to begin on or before October 18th, 2010,” reports Autoblog.
Owners may contact Aston Martin customer service at 1-888-923-9988 or contact the NHTSA’s vehicle safety hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
