RECALL ALERT: Continental Ford Tires
Ford and Continental Recall F-250s and F-350s

Continental and Ford are recalling Ford F-250 and F-350 trucks that are equipped with Contitrac TR tires. Continental reports, “Some of these tires may experience uneven wear, vibration, or particularly under conditions of overloading or under inflation in high ambient temperature usage, separation between the belt edges.” If the belt edges separate, the chance of an accident increases significantly.
The recall applies to the following Contitrac TR tires: “size LT275/70R18 125/122S outline white letters and black sidewall, and Contitrac size LT275/70R18 125/122R and black sidewall.” These tires were produced from May 6, 2007 through September 20, 2008 and were installed on some Ford F-250s and F-350s from the 2008 and 2009 model years. Some tires were also sold in the aftermarket.
Continental says the recall will begin this month. The company will notify owners and replace the affected tires for free.
