Rossi given Ferrari F1 green light
Nine-time World Champion granted test drive by Ferrari supremo
16 November 2009
2009 MotoGP World Champion Valentino Rossi has been given the green light to test a Ferrari Formula 1 car next January, after the Italian's request was granted by Ferrari supremo Luca Montezemolo.
It will be Rossi's third time in a Ferrari F1 car. The test will no doubt fuel speculation the nine-time world champion is looking to switch to F1 once his MotoGP career has finished.
Montezemolo hit the car racing headlines this weekend when he ditched a Ferrari California into the gravel trap at Ferrari’s World Finals in Valencia. The Ferrari boss was taking newly-signed driver Fernando Alonso and injured Felipe Massa for a quick spin on a parade lap.
