Large and luxury vehicles still resonate with consumers, The Detroit News reported. In fact, in a survey of new-vehicle owners, the top 34 ranked cars, and 106 of the top 107, are large cars, luxury cars, SUVs, crossover SUVs or minivans, the paper said.
Only one small car, the BMW 1-Series, scored in the top 100, landing in the 35th slot, according to a survey by AutoPacific Inc. and IntelliChoice.com, both based in California. “Clearly, consumers still get great satisfaction from large and luxurious cars, despite the economy, rising fuel costs and manufacturers’ focus on smaller vehicles,” George Peterson, president of AutoPacific, told the paper.
The survey is based on data collected from 32,000 mail and Internet respondents and information from manufacturers, and recognizes new cars and trucks that “give their owners both economic and emotional satisfaction,” the story said. (The Detroit News)
