Toyota Tumbled 46.5%
Japanese automakers’ vehicle output slides further

The Associated Press reported Thursday that global production at Toyota Motor Corp. continued to decline last month. Global vehicle production at the world’s largest automaker tumbled 46.5 percent in April from a year ago to 433,979 vehicles.
Honda Motor Co. fared slightly better because of strong sales of its Insight hybrid and Fit subcompact in Japan, where Honda’s sales rose in April for the first time in six months.
Nissan Motor Co. saw its production fall across the globe, except for China. Global production for Mitsubishi Motors Corp. in April totaled 46,289 for the 14th straight monthly decline. Mazda Motor Corp. also reported a global production drop of 43.8 percent. (The Associated Press)
