JET Performance Module ???

any1 use the stage 1 or stage 2 module ???

what were your gains ???

worth the money ???

There are many pros & cons on this one at most Dak forums, It does seem a lot of people think it works a lot better on the 3.7L than the 4.7L which I guess is a good thing for us. But then dan the fastman thinks the ECU compensates for the gains over time . I have thought about getting a stage 1 but thats a lot of $ for just short term gains so I don't know just my 2 cents.

I've read the same stories as danpfay. When I had my Dakota, the module I was considering was the Hypertech or the Superchip. Their about the only ones I ever read were actually modifying the timing, fuel mixture & shift points, as opposed to just tricking the EFI into thinking it was starving for fuel.
For now, I'll probably run it as is for the first couple of oil changes. Then I'll setup a CAI and maybe exhaust & see how it goes.

When looking at the Jet Performance website about their chips they mentioned needing on top of free flowing exhaust and a "180 degree thermostat? What exactly is a 180 degree thermostat and do I need to run high flow catalytic converts as well to help out? Oh this is all for the stage 2. Might as well go with that instead of spending the money on stage 1. Wish there was a standalone ECU for the car...

A 180 deg. stat is just that vs the 195 deg. stat that is factory installed. It is said by a lot of people that these eng. the 3.7L & 4.7L run a lot better with the 180 deg. stat. they claim it makes more power running cooler. It is a performance mod made on a lot of racing eng. hope this helps.

+1 !!!

180* t-stats are cooler than 195*, thus letting fluid flow through at 180* instaed of the stock 195*. therefore it cools the stuff down faster ...

cooler engine (and componets) = better performance ...

exhaust pretty much lets ur car breathe better ...
the more power u have, the more u want your car to breathe ...

so something like a high flow cat will be lest restrictive, and help you car breathe better ...

also gives you more power !!!!
