Mopar calls them Dodge Nitro Roof Crossbars.

Yes I installed these on my 2007 Nitro and found them "On-Line"

2007 Black, mounts to production side rails, Includes T-slots for carrier installation. 82210062

Not sure what is different with the 2008 accessory but they are more expensive. They look the same to me.

2008 & up Black, mounts to production side rails, Includes T-slots for carrier installation. 82211487

Cross Bars for 2008 Nitro

I have a 2008 Nitro SXT that came with roof rails but no cross bars. I'd like to purchase some cross bars but it looks like everything that i find fits a factory roof rail that has a metal side channel on both sides of the rail, running the entire length of the rail (expect for the far front and back sections which are solid pieces). My rails only have a metal channel side on only one side of the rail. The inner side toward the center of the roof is open. I don't have a U-type channel the length of the rail. Does anyone know what i need to do/purchase for a workable cross bar system that will fit these rails?

First of all, welcome to the forum.

Read this thread:

https://www.dodge-nitro.com/forums/f1...ity-bars-2955/

In the posts, you will find 2 part numbers. Initially, the 2007 and early 2008's came with the metal rails so the production cross bar kits for these years did not come with the metal rails. If you can find one of these kits, you will be fine. The kits made for later 2008 through 2011 include the rails. This is the only difference between the kits. If you can only find a later kit, you will still be OK. Just mount the cross bars to your rails and use the rails from the kit to play raquet ball!

Dutchty:

All the above posts show Mopar Part Numbers and MSRP that are discounted from some "Online" Dealers. If you decide on one use your search engine to find the best total pricing or ask your Dealer for their best price. Don't see why any year Nitro would not be the same to install but looks like most require the MOPAR after market cross bars too, so it could become expensive!

GOOD LUCK and let us know (w/pictures) what you use.

The two roof (black plastic) rails are standard equipment on all Nitros as far as I know here in the US. If I understand correctly you have none? Aftermarket Cross Bars do not come with the rails but do mount to them.
