Dodge Nitro: Which radio wire harness is correct?

Hello All.

Model: 2007 Dodge Nitro SLT
Stereo: Stock basic with no bluetooth
Amp/Sub: No
Steering Wheel Controls: Yes

I am installing a Kenwood DPX792BH (double din, no nav). I already have the dash kit.

What I need help with is the wire harness.

Whats the basic harness, no steering controls or extras?

Whats the more in depth harness, keeps steering controls and what not?

Crutchfield and SonicElectronix show me a bunch of different ones and I want to make sure I get it correct. So I came to the experts.

Welcome R St0ver

I doubt that any of us would be experts unless we had installed the same radio. If Kenwood offers you the option to continue to use your the cool feature of your steering wheel controls to change radio channels and volume why not (if I understand your question?).

I would take that option myself. Good Luck on your radio upgrade.

You'll need parts to install this Kenwood in your Dodge. Add one of the packages below to your order.
Vehicle Features Retained

2007 Dodge Nitro Sport Utility with factory subwoofer

Steering Wheel Controls
Retain use of factory steering wheel audio controls (if equipped) when you install a new car stereo.
Uconnect
Amplifier
Subwoofer
Retained Accessory Power (RAP)
Fade Control
Factory Wiring Connectors

$84.97

Includes: w/factory
PAC RP4-CH11 Wiring Interface
Metra 40-EU10 Antenna Adapter
Metra 95-6511 Dash Kit

Vehicle Features Retained

Steering Wheel Controls
Uconnect
Amplifier
Retain use of your vehicle's factory amplifier when you install a new car stereo. Connectors are provided for easier installation.
Subwoofer
Retained Accessory Power (RAP)
Fade Control
Factory Wiring Connectors

$54.97

PAC RP4-CH11 Wiring Interface
Metra 40-EU10 Antenna Adapter
ect.

I used the Crutchfield's order guide and the main option is a factory subwoofer, then add one of two kits.

This wiring harness looks to be the same and is available from Amazon and even Walmart so if I did the correct search
( do it yourself to make sure) you should have no issue of purchasing one.

I bought my stereo from Crutchfield specifically for that. They gave me the option for the XSVI-6522-NAV which turns out do not work in my situation

Not sure why you would not contact them and make it all work for you. It is their responsibility? Don't understand why they would not send you the above PAC RP4-CH11 Wiring Interface as per their Web Site will work with their radio on your Nitro? Purchase it from someone else?

Mind if I ask what the mistake was? I can't get mine to work with the same harness? Seems like the amp isn't turning on. Because when I plug I the old radio it works fine.
