HANDS FREE DEVICES NOT SO SAFE?

06/13/2013

Quote:
A new study from AAA says that using hands-free devices to talk or text on the phone while driving isnít as safe as itís made out to be. Researchers monitored driverís brainwaves, eye movements and other areas, to find which tasks distract drivers the most. The study found that things such as listening to the radio werenít very distracting. Talking on the cell phone, even hands-free was rated a moderate risk, but researchers found that using voice activated features to listen and respond to emails or texts was even more dangerous. The study concludes that drivers should be better educated about these devices and that voice-activated features should be limited to things like cruise or climate control while driving.

I don't believe this latest study. The next study will find it is safer to drive alone due to the distraction of having a passenger!

I definitely drive slower with a passenger than alone as there is that distraction. F1 and Nascar drivers tend to be alone...lol
