Jeep Wrangler JL to be Recalled
Jeep Wrangler JL to be Recalled for Faulty Frame Welds
Oct 10, 2018
The Jeep Wrangler JL will soon be recalled to fix faulty welds on the front portion of the vehicle’s frame.
Fiat Chrysler will issue an official recall for the problem before year’s end, which is believed to affect roughly 18,000 vehicles.
In a statement, FCA said those vehicles “may have been built with a front track bar bracket weld located off the seam, potentially resulting in the bracket separating from the frame.” The automaker added that a “separation of the front track bar bracket from the frame may cause a reduction in the steering response, which can cause a vehicle crash without warning.”
FCA says it will conduct a voluntary safety recall to “inspect and repair the front track bar welds as needed.” Both 2018 model year and 2019 model year vehicles are affected.
Those Jeep Wrangler JL owners who are worried their vehicle may included in the recall can find out using Fiat Chrysler VIN lookup tool at this link or call Jeep’s customer care line at 877-426-5337.
