Nitro Sales Triple
Sounds too good to be true? Well it is true but sadly it is not here in the US.
27 February 2009
DUBAI - Chrysler Corp. on Thursday posted 18 per cent growth in its Middle Eastern car sales for 2008, a result that bucks the trend of crisis for automakers in many other parts of the world.
Chrysler sold more than 14,500 vehicles in the region last year, compared to 12,300 in 2007. The company racked up its largest share of sales by volume in Saudi Arabia, followed by the UAE, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Lebanon, Jordan and Yemen. Chrysler’s sales in Jordan grew the fastest, up 69 per from 2007, the company said on Thursday.
Trent Barcroft, Vice-President of Chrysler International in the Middle East, said the company boosted its retail market share in a challenging year. A Chrysler spokeman said the company’s regional market share was probably in single digits.
The best-selling model of Chrysler’s Dodge brand in the Middle East was the Charger, with over 3,400 sold last year. Sales of the Dodge Nitro almost tripled in 2008, while Dodge Durango sales increased by 11 per cent.
