2019 Dodge Durango Pursuit revealed at the National Sheriffs’ Association Show in New Orleans

A performance-tuned, load-leveling suspension joins Durango Pursuit for 2019 and bolsters control and stability
2019 Dodge Durango Pursuit is available later this summer

June 15, 2018 , Auburn Hills, Mich. -

Dodge is taking its new Durango Pursuit to the Big Easy, introducing the new 2019 model at the 2018 National Sheriffs’ Association Show, June 15-19 in New Orleans.

“Dodge already leads the police pursuit sedan business with the proven Charger Pursuit, and we believe the 2019 Dodge Durango Pursuit SUV will expand our appeal to an even broader audience and take our game to the next level in terms of performance,” said Steve Beahm, Head of Passenger Car Brands – Dodge//SRT, Chrysler, and FIAT, FCA - North America. “The Durango gives law enforcement agencies even more of what they want: a more spacious interior room, a higher ride height, HEMI® V-8 performance and efficiency.”

New for 2019, the 2019 Dodge Durango Pursuit features a new front fascia with integrated brake-cooling air ducts for improved brake performance and durability. Durango Pursuit also now features a performance-tuned, load-leveling suspension to bolster control and stability, enhancing its Pursuit-level driving capabilities.

The 2019 Dodge Durango Pursuit offers the standard 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine rated at 293 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque or the available 5.7L HEMI V-8 rated at a best-in-class 360 horsepower and 390 lb.-ft. of torque. All Durango Pursuit models are equipped with an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive (AWD). Dodge Durango Pursuit V-8 models include the segment’s most technologically advanced AWD system with a segment-exclusive active transfer case to improve real-world fuel economy while also enhancing the vehicle’s traction and handling.

The legendary 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 is the same powertrain combination most commonly deployed in the Dodge Charger Pursuit, the top-selling police sedan in the U.S. market. The Durango Pursuit also offers a two-speed transfer case for true low-range off-road capability and incorporates larger, heavy-duty anti-lock brakes that deliver a 60-0 mile per hour (mph) stopping distance of 134 feet.

Additional highlights for 2019 include a performance-tuned suspension, load-leveling NIVOMAT shocks, 13.8-inch front and 13-inch rear pursuit-rated brake package, front- and rear-stabilizer bars and 18-inch tires on aluminum wheels. Other highlights include ParkView rear backup camera with ParkSense, spot lamp wiring prep package, red/white auxiliary dome lamp, 220-amp alternator, 800 cold cranking amp (CCA) battery (with V-8 engine only), heavy-duty oil cooler and water pump, power locking fuel filler door, 8-way power adjusting driver seat controls, certified speedometer and class-exclusive K-9-friendly Tri-Zone interior control.

2019 Dodge Durango Pursuit models earned an EPA-estimated 25 miles per gallon (mpg) highway with the 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 and 22 mpg highway with the 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 engine. Durango Pursuit V-8 can tow a best-in-class 7,200 lbs. and offers standard trailer sway control. Durango Pursuit features the segment’s longest wheelbase at 120 inches for added stability and handling. A spare tire is mounted under the vehicle, maximizing interior cargo space and accessibility, while offering 8.1 inches of ground clearance for added off-road capability.

The 2019 Dodge Durango Pursuit will be available for orders later this summer. For more information, law enforcement agencies should call (800) 999-3533.

July 12, 2018 , Auburn Hills, Mich. -

The Dodge Durango – the ultimate "no-compromise" SUV – launches into 2019 with five distinct models – SXT, GT, Citadel, R/T and SRT – providing a solid range of performance and powertrain options, from the 475-horsepower Durango SRT – America’s fastest, most powerful and most capable three-row SUV – to the efficient V-6 power of the Durango SXT, with available all-wheel-drive capability on all models.

New for 2019, Durango GT models continue to deliver V-6 fuel economy, but now share the Durango SRT and R/T’s performance front fascia and LED fog lamps. The SRT-inspired performance hood with center air inlet duct and two heat extractors is available on Durango GT. Also new for 2019, Durango Citadel models get standard second-row captain’s chairs and Durango models equipped with the optional Trailer Tow Group now feature a new integrated trailer brake to complement Durango’s best-in-class towing capability.

“The Durango is our three-row Charger of the SUV segment, delivering uncompromised utility, advanced technology, class-leading towing and driving range, confident driving dynamics and aggressive styling,” said Steve Beahm, Head of Passenger Cars, Dodge//SRT, Chrysler and FIAT, FCA – North America. “Customer demand for utility vehicles in the United States has exploded over the past decade, and with America’s fastest, most powerful and most capable three-row SUVs in our garage and the new updates for the 2019 model year, Dodge Durango continues to separate itself from the competition with the performance and capability that our customers demand.”

Dealers can now place orders for the 2019 Dodge Durango. Vehicles are scheduled to start arriving in Dodge dealerships this fall.

Durango SRT

The 2019 Durango SRT remains America’s fastest, most powerful and most capable three-row SUV with the proven 392-cubic-inch HEMI® V-8 delivering 475 horsepower and 470 lb.-ft. of torque, allowing it to go from 0-60 miles per hour (mph) in 4.4 seconds and covering the quarter-mile in 12.9 seconds as certified by the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA), all while outhauling every three-row full-size SUV on the road with a best-in-class towing capability of 8,700 pounds.

New for 2019, the Durango SRT offers available red seat belts and lightweight, high-performance Brembo brakes with two-piece rotors, as well as an available 825-watt, 19-speaker Harman Kardon audio system that delivers opulent sound and refinement. An optional 20-inch in Matte Vapor or Brass Monkey finish is available on Durango SRT.

Durango SRT is loaded with standard performance features, including a performance-tuned AWD system, a sophisticated Active Damping System that opens and closes the Durango SRT’s suspension’s damper valves and an exhaust system tuned to offer an unmistakably deep, high-performance Dodge//SRT exhaust note. Durango SRT boasts outstanding high-speed corning capability, thanks in part to stiffer front and rear springs and rear sway bar. Massive Brembo high-performance six-piston and four-piston calipers and vented rotors at all four corners bring Durango SRT to a halt quickly.

Inside, Performance Laguna Leather and true carbon fiber accents on the instrument panel and door bezels are complimented by a hand-wrapped dashboard with live silver accent stitch, SRT flat-bottom performance steering wheel with standard paddle shifters and heated and ventilated front and heated second-row captain’s chairs with embossed SRT logos. Premium velour bound floor mats with embroidered SRT logo and a suede-wrapped headliner and A-pillars give Durango SRT a premium and refined feel.
