Auto enthusiasts can celebrate a personal or professional milestone or recognize a colleague or loved one’s passion with two commemorative programs benefiting the Walter P. Chrysler Museum Foundation: Brick Legacy and Adopt-a-Vehicle.

The museum, in Auburn Hills, Mich., is launching both programs to give enthusiasts an avenue for public expression and to raise funds for programs and exhibitions.

The Brick Legacy program involves the thousands of brick pavers that grace the museum’s front porch and expansive back patio. Providing a blank slate for engraved messages of celebration, recognition and other sentiments, the bricks will create an outdoor exhibition of permanent, personal declarations that will greet museum visitors for decades to come.

Brick pavers are available in a 4-inch-by-8-inch size for $125 or an 8-inch-by-8-inch size for $250. Each accommodates a 12-character message. The smaller brick will hold three lines, and the large brick will hold four lines. All levels of Walter P. Chrysler Museum members can purchase brick pavers at a $25 discount.

The Adopt-a-Vehicle program enables individuals and groups to support the care and maintenance of a favorite vehicle from among nearly three dozen on exhibit in the Museum. Ranging from a 1902 Rambler to a 1997 Plymouth Prowler, the options represent such orphan marques as AMC, DeSoto, Hudson, Nash and Willys, as well as heritage models from the Chrysler, Jeep® and Dodge brands.

Adopters will be recognized on signs in visible proximity to their adopted vehicles, which can be adopted “in memory” or “in honor” of someone and noted as such on the sign. Vehicle adoptions are $500 per year or $450 for all levels of museum members.

Contributions for both the Brick Legacy and Adopt-a-Vehicle programs are tax deductible. Funds from the programs will be used for operations and to maintain the museum’s total heritage vehicle collection, respectively.

For those with Internet access, Brick Legacy and Adopt-a-Vehicle reservation forms are available online via the Support the museum tab of the museum’s Web site at Walter P. Chrysler Museum. Forms can be submitted via fax to (248) 944-0460 or mail to 1 Chrysler Dr., CIMS 488-00-00, Auburn Hills, MI 48326. The museum accepts payment via check, American Express, Discover, MasterCard or Visa.

For additional information about the Walter P. Chrysler Museum’s Brick Legacy and Adopt-a-Vehicle, as well as membership, programs, e-mail [email protected] or call (866) 836-0105.
