THE QUOTES: Kenny Watson Ė Team Manager
ďKyleís (Partridge) injury is just one of those freaks incidents in dirt bike racing that you canít explain. He has two broken vertebra and a compound fracture in his right foot. Heís in good spirits. Heíll have surgery to fuse the C-3 and C-4 (vertebra) to help stabilize the fractures. The doctors are expecting a full recovery. Kyle is in good spirits and vows for a full recovery and plans to get back on the bike when heís healthy.Ē

JOSH HANSEN (No. 100 Dodge/Sycuan Casino/Hart and Huntington/Bel-Ray Racing Kawasaki)
WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON RACING AT DAYTONA INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY THIS WEEKEND? ďIím stoked. Daytona is the gnarliest race of the year by far. They make crazy, backyard kind of stuff that wouldnít normally be on a Supercross track. Itís straight-up awesome. Itís tough. Your bike is setup for Supercross and then they throw some outdoor rough sections in as well. Itís a long race. It beats the crap out of you. Itís Daytona. Itís gnarly. You know what to expect when you get there.Ē

YOU WON THE AMA 125cc EAST REGION SUPERCROSS RACE IN 2005 AT DAYTONA. WHAT CAN YOU TAKE AWAY FROM THAT WIN? ďJust to be calm and confident on the bike. I have to get into a good rhythm and just ride with confidence. Itís going to be awesome. I love Daytona.Ē

YOUíVE LOST THREE TEAMMATES TO INJURIES THIS YEAR. DOES THAT START TO CREEP INTO YOUR MIND WHEN YOUíRE ON THE BIKE? ďThe injuries are nuts. To be down to one rider this week is crazy. It puts more pressure on me to perform. Iím just going to keep charging on and try to say healthy through Daytona.Ē

CAN YOU TALK ABOUT THE STYLE OF TRACKS THE SX SERIES IS RACING ON AND HOW COMPETITIVE ITíS MAKING THE RACING? ďI wish the tracks were more technical. There seems to be more obstacles on the tracks, but there really isnít anything to separate the riders. Itís such close and fast racing. The tracks arenít technical enough to where it slows riders down. Thereís only seems to be one rhythm to the tracks and if youíre not in that main rhythm youíre not in the race. Like 10 years ago, theyíd make the tracks so gnarly that there would only be three good riders that could handle the technical stuff and the other guys would be stacking it up. Now, the tracks are a little easier and you have 12 guys battling for position all the time.Ē

Post-Race Recap

RAIN WREAKS HAVOC ON SUPERCROSS TRACK AT DAYTONA

Streak Of Consecutive Main Event Appearances Ends For Hansen

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. Ė (March 10, 2012) Ė Heavy rains at the World Center of Racing was the story for Round 10 of AMA Monster Energy Supercross Series at Daytona International Speedway. On most race nights when riders are hopeful to keep their motorcycles upright, the saturated mud of Daytona reminded them to stay afloat. Track conditions were so bad the AMA Supercross Series reduced the 450-class Main Event from 20 to 16 laps.

With teammates Kyle Partridge, Ivan Tedesco and Josh Hill on the mend with injuries, Hart and Huntingtonís Josh Hansen was the lone Dodge rider in the heavy, deep-rutted Daytona track.

In Heat Race No. 1, Hansen was forced off-track as the multi-rider battle reached Turn 1. The first-year Hart and Huntington rider could not recover and retired early to finish 20th. That forced Hansen to the Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ) in quest of one of the two final spots up for grabs in the Main Event.

In the LCQ, Hansen would vie for one of the two transfer positions on a track where survival was king. After breaking from the gate second, Hansen would get clipped from behind entering Turn 2. That sent him to the ground and ending any chance of making his 10th consecutive Main Event this season. He finished 20th. James Stewart was the Main Event race winner.

Round 11 of the 17 event AMA Monster Energy Supercross Series is next weekend at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

THE QUOTE: KYLE REGAL ON JOINING H&H RACING
ďIím really excited. I rode Daytona on my own and to have an opportunity to ride for Carey (Hart) is huge. Iím really excited about the bikes and equipment, all my sponsors, Dodge, for giving me this opportunity. Iíve been out with an injury and coming back now is sooner than I expected. At the same time, I need to go out and ride and prove myself to a new team.Ē

JOSH HANSEN (No. 100 Dodge/Sycuan Casino/Hart and Huntington/Bel-Ray Racing Kawasaki)
YOUíRE LAST TWO RACES HAVE BEEN TOUGH FOR YOU. HOW DO YOU HIT THE ďRESETĒ BUTTON? ďMan, it was embarrassing. My last DNQ (Did Not Qualify) was in í08 at Daytona and to do it again there last weekend just sucked. But you have to get back on the bike and ride again this weekend and forget about last week or the week before. Our bikes have been good. I feel solid on the bike. I just need to put together a consistent ride and get into a rhythm. Last week was a survival race; I was just at the wrong place at the wrong time. Iím not happy how I rode.Ē

HOW ARE YOUR PHYSICALLY? ďIím banged up a bit. Iíve got some issues with my foot that isnít allowing me to ride during the week and train. Itís pretty sore. A lot of guys are banged up this time of the season. You just have to not let it be an excuse and dig through it.Ē

ON RACING AT INDY THIS WEEKEND? ďIím stoked to get on the bike and prove that last weekend was a fluke. I know Iím a better rider than that and itís up to me to make it happen.Ē

JOSH REGAL (No. 36 Dodge/Sycuan Casino/Hart and Huntington/Bel-Ray Racing Kawasaki)
INDY IS YOUR FIRST RACE WITH THE HART AND HUNTINGTON TEAM. IT MUST BE AN EXCITING WEEKEND FOR YOU? ďIím really excited.

YOU HAVE 16 CAREER RACES IN THE 450-CLASS, WHAT ARE YOUR EXPECTATIONS HEADING INTO THE WEEKEND? ďMake the Main and challenge for a win. Iíd be bummed if I werenít inside the top 10. I use to ride the red bikes, but now Iím on the Kawasaki. Itís going to be interesting. Iíve had a chance to ride the Kawasakiís for a few days and still kind of learning the bikes. The quicker that I can get consistent on it, the faster the better Iíll be,Ē

HOW TOUGH OF AN ADJUSTMENT IS IT TO GO FROM THE HONDA TO A KAWASAKI? ďI thought that it was going to be hard because I never rode the Kawasaki before. Over the last few days, we switched a lot of stuff on the bike and I really feel comfortable on it already. I just need to get on the race track and see how it feels from there.Ē

Newcomer Regal Leads Dodge at Supercross Series Event in Indianapolis
March 18, 2012 , INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - AMA Monster Energy Supercross Series

(Round 11 of 17 events)
Post-Race Recap

NEWCOMER REGAL RIDES SOLO AND PLACES 16th AT INDIANAPOLIS

Lingering Ankle Injury Forces Hansen to Withdraw

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. Ė (March 17, 2012) Ė Kyle Regal experienced a quick baptism as the newest member of the Dodge/Sycuan Casino/Hart and Huntington/Bel-Ray Racing Kawasaki team here Saturday night in the AMA Monster Energy Supercross race at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

Hired only three days ago after injuries sidelined new teammates Josh Hill, Ivan Tedesco and Kyle Partridge, Regal had limited practice time to prepare on his new green colors Ė the first time ever as a professional riding a Kawasaki. The former Honda privateer rider, who himself returned from a serious injury last weekend, made a respectable showing, riding to a 12th-place finish in his Heat race.

Forced to the Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ), Regal would gain the holeshot on veteran Kevin Windham as the gate dropped and lead the field of 22 riders into Turn 1 of the six-lap race. With a comfortable ride underneath him, Regal led the first two laps and finished second, earning one of the two LCQ transfer spots into the Main Event.

In the Main Event, Regal would break from the gate 14th and ride as high as 13th on Lap 2. A Lap 3 wobble dropped him several positions en route to a 16th-place finish.

Teammate Josh Hansen was forced to withdraw from the event after aggravating an ankle injury sustained two weeks ago. Hansen struggled through significant pain early in practice and was unable to complete his timed qualifying session. He withdrew and will undergo an MRI on Monday in Los Angeles.

ďJosh (Hansen) has had a bum ankle for a few weeks and itís still bothering him,Ē said Kenny Watson, Hart and Huntington team manager. ďHe went to the doctorís office on Friday and had some X-rayís taken, but the results were inconclusive. He taped it up in practice earlier today and tried to ride, but there was just too much pain. Obviously thereís something still wrong inside the ankle so heís planning on having an MRI on Monday to figure out whatís going on.Ē

Round 12 of the 17 event AMA Monster Energy Supercross Series is next weekend at the Rogers Centre in Toronto, Ont., Canada.

DODGE/HART & HUNTINGTON NEWS

Dodge and Hart & Huntington will field one Dodge/Sycaun Casino/Hart & Huntington/Bell-Ray Racing Kawasaki 450 in Saturday nightís event in Toronto. Kyle Regal will be the lone rider as Josh Hill, Kyle Partridge, Josh Hansen and Ivan Tedesco are all out with injuries. Hill and Hansen are expected to return next weekend in Houston. Hansen underwent a MRI on his left ankle on Monday, confirming no fracture. A date for Tedescoís return has not been determined.
Josh Hansen posted six top-10 finishes in nine Main Event appearances to lead the Hart & Huntington team before sustaining an injury to his ankle

FAST FACTS

Former Honda privateer Kyle Regal finished 16th in his first race as a member of the Hart and Huntington Racing team last weekend at Indianapolis. Regal earned a berth into the Main Event after finishing second in the LCQ

RIDER QUOTE OF THE WEEK Ė KYLE REGAL
ďThe fields are so deep that everyone is riding really hard. There are so many guys that are going fast that every part of the track is tough. In the LCQ last weekend, there were probably five guys that could have won the race. Itís just crazy how competitive the racing is right now. It just makes everything so important, going back from the timed qualifying to Heat races to the Main Event. You just canít make a mistake.Ē

KYLE REGAL (No. 36 Dodge/Sycuan Casino/Hart and Huntington/Bel-Ray Racing
Kawasaki) TALK ABOUT HEADING TO TORONTO THIS WEEKEND FOR THE SUPERCROSS SERIES RACE: ďWe got a lot of rain in Texas this week and I havenít been able to get a lot of time on my bike and test which will be a setback. Iíve only had three days plus the race on Saturday, which isnít a whole lot of time at all. At this point, Iím just trying to get time on the bike and head into Toronto like I did for Indy, play it smart lap-by-lap and just be solid on the bike. I feel like Iíll get better results the more time that I get on the Kawasaki. Iím the only Hart and Huntington rider this weekend, which puts a little more pressure on me. I just need to stay on two wheels and go from there.Ē

HOW HAS THE TRANSITION BEEN GOING FROM THE HONDA TO THE KAWASAKI? ďFor me, itís all about handling. The biggest thing for me to learn is how it handles under high-powered corners. Last weekend, I lost the front and made some small mistakes that are uncommon to how I ride. I just need to get use to where it wants my body on the bike on every part of the track. When I start feeling that and I know what I can do, Iíll feel a lot more comfortable.Ē

WHERE DO YOU THINK THAT YOU HAVE SPEED ON THE BIKE NOW? ďI feel the most comfortable over the rhythm sections. Iím still trying to work my way through the whoops and fast corners.Ē

CAN YOU TALK ABOUT THE AMOUNT OF RIDERS THAT HAVE GONE DOWN TO INJURIES THIS YEAR? IS THERE ANYTHING ABOUT THE STYLE OF RACING THAT IS PLAYING A FACTOR? ďThe fields are so deep that everyone is riding really hard.

SRT Motorsports - Dodge AMA Monster Energy Supercross Series Race Recap - Toronto
March 25, 2012 , TORONTO, Ontario, Can. - Late Contact Ruins Solid Performance for Dodge Rider Kyle Regal

TORONTO Ė (March 24, 2012) Ė On a slick, deep-rutted and loose track under the controlled climate of the domed Rogers Centre stadium in Toronto, Team Dodge rider Kyle Regal rode to a 17th-place finish in Round 12 of the AMA Monster Energy Supercross Series.

Earning his second consecutive Main Event appearance under his new green colors for the Hart and Huntington race team, Regal used a solid eighth-place ride in Heat 1 to secure his spot in the prime time show north of the border.

After breaking 12th when the gate dropped, Regal set his Kawasaki in 13th by lap two. On the next lap, while fighting for position, Regalís bike was slowed when t-boned heading into corner entry. That dropped him five spots to 18th. Ten laps later the Michigan native had charged through the 20-rider field and gained five positions with an eye on the top 10.

ďThe track was really technical, loose on top and hard underneath which really made it tough on your setup,Ē said Regal after his second race aboard the No. 36 Dodge/Sycuan Casino/Hart and Huntington/Bel-Ray Racing Kawasaki. ďIt was really technical for sure. I had a decent run in the Heat Race and felt really solid on the bike. I felt good all night. I didnít break from the gate like I wanted to and tired to be patient and not lay the bike down in the first corner. I was riding along in 13th and had an issue with a guy who t-boned me and knocked me off-course a bit. From there, I was just trying get my composure back, keep the bike on two wheels and ride as hard as I could.Ē

Unfortunately for Regal, his fate would be secure on lap 17 when the 20-year-old rider was collected again as he was fighting for position. That dropped his four positions where he would finish 17th.

ďSometimes guys just over ride and youíre in the wrong spot at the wrong time,Ē he added. ďTo have that happen to me twice in one night is a drag. Iíll move on. Our bikes are fast. Weíll get some good rides in this week and head to Houston next weekend.Ē

Round 13 of the 17 event AMA Monster Energy Supercross Series heads to Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas next Saturday night.

KYLE REGAL (No. 36 Dodge/Sycuan Casino/Hart and Huntington/Bel-Ray Racing Kawasaki)
WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS HEADING INTO HOUSTON THIS WEEKEND? ďIím excited to get on the bike and ride in my home state. I have some family and friends that are going to be there which is cool. Itís a hometown race for me since I didnít race Dallas this year. Iím just hoping for some solid practice time and hopefully a fast Heat race. I feel great on the bike. I just need to keep it on two wheels and off the dirt. Our bikes are fast. Iím really pumped to get to Houston.Ē

ARE YOU BEGINNING TO GET MORE COMFORTABLE ON THE KAWASAKI? ďFor sure. Weíre working one some things with the front of the bike trying to get me more comfortable in the turns; body position and stuff like that. Itís still work in progress, but I definitely feel a lot better than I did a few weeks ago.Ē

YOUíRE HEADING TO YOUR HOME STATE THIS WEEKEND? IS THERE ANY MORE PRESSURE/EXPECTATIONS YOU PUT ON YOURSELF? "Not really. I kind of block that stuff out of my mind when Iím on the bike. You have to be so focused; letting anything interfere with your ride can cost you a lot.Ē

JOSH HILL (No. 75 Dodge/Sycuan Casino/Hart and Huntington/Bel-Ray Racing Kawasaki)
WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON GETTING BACK INTO ACTION THIS WEEKEND? ďIím really excited to get back on the bike. Iím happy to be back racing. Itís been a rough season for me, but I canít wait to get back on the bike and get some start time again. Iím not too nervous. Riding is what we do, so I Ďm stoked to get to Houston and ride again.Ē

HOW MUCH TIME HAVE YOU BEEN BACK ON THE BIKE WHILE REHABILITATING YOUR LEG? ďNot a whole lot. We were pretty sure that I was going to come back soon after the crash, but when I tried to ride I kept getting this pain in my foot. I went to the doctors and they found that I had a broken heel on my left-foot from the crash as well. That set me back a bit. I got about five or six days of riding on the bike heading into the weekend. Iím definitely underprepared heading into Houston. I feel good on the bike. Itís going to be cool to race again.Ē

HOW DO YOU MENTALLY BLOCK OUT RECENT YOUR INJURIES AND STILL ATTACK THE DIRT? ďWell, the injuries that I got this year in Anaheim are like a Charlie horse compared to my other injuries from two years ago. Iím not really stressed about the injuries that I got this year. Iím just going to go out, have a solid race and try and stay on two wheels. The key is to come back after Sundayís race healthy so that I can keep building and building to get better.Ē

WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS HEADING INTO NEW ORLEANS THIS WEEKEND? ďIíve just been trying to get more time on the bike. I rode yesterday and over the weekend. Weíve had some rain, which has slowed the amount of time Iíve been on the seat. For me, itís really a matter of just getting more time on the bike, getting more laps in and preparing for Saturday.Ē

YOUíRE IN A PRECARIOUS POSITION HEADING INTO THE LAST FOUR RACES OF THE SEASON. YOU WERENíT PART OF THE ORIGINAL FOUR RIDERS ON THE HART AND HUNTINGTON TEAM, YET YOUíRE NOW IN A POSITION TO RIDE SEVEN OF THE LAST 17 RACES FOR THEM. IT HAS TO BE AN INCREDIBLE OPPORTUNITY?
ďYeah, itís been amazing to ride for Carey (Hart) and his team. Iím very thankful for everyone thatís given me the opportunity. I know that there are a lot of eyes on me since Iíve been on the bike, but a lot of people donít know that Iím also coming off an injury and thatís kind of hard to fight at the same time. Just like anybody else, when you come back from an injury itís not as easy as you expected. No excuses. Itís a huge opportunity for me and Iím going out every week trying to give it my all, get the best result that I can, try to get inside that top 10 and battle with those guys.Ē

IVAN TEDESCO (No. 9 Dodge/Sycuan Casino/Hart and Huntington/Bel-Ray Racing
Kawasaki)

WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ABOUT FINALLY GETTING BACK ON THE BIKE THIS WEEK AT NEW ORLEANS? ďIím super excited to be back. I was off the bike for 11 weeks with that broken finger; it gave me a little bit more problems than I was expecting. Once I got the pins taken out, I wasnít able to bend my finger for a couple of weeks and had to do a lot of therapy to get the movement back. I still donít have 100 percent movement in it, but enough to hold the handle bars and go ride. I got on the bike this week. Iím glad to be back.Ē

HOW MUCH TRAINING HAVE YOU BEEN ABLE TO DO SINCE THE INJURY? ďIíve done what I can off the bike to train and keep my cardio in good shape. Thereís no replacing being on the seat and riding a dirt bike. Iíve got some work ahead heading into the weekend. Iím not 100 percent physically and that will limit me a bit. Iím not going to be able to attack the track like I normally do, but I feel great on the bike so far. Weíll see how practice goes and go from there.Ē

WHAT ARE THE REASONABLE EXPECTATIONS FOR YOU THIS WEEKEND? ďI really donít have any because Iím not sure what to expect. Iím not sure where my fitness is, but speed wise, I feel fast. Riding with the guys down on the practice track showed that I was fast. Itís going to be a matter of doing 20 laps and managing the race. Iím excited to get back and see what I can do at these last four events.Ē

YOUíVE BEEN ON THE OUTSIDE LOOKING IN OVER THE LAST 11 WEEKS. ARE YOU AMAZED AT HOW MUCH RIDER ATTRITION THERE HAS BEEN IN SX THIS YEAR? ďYeah, itís a shame. We were expecting to have the greatest Supercross season of all time and guys were just dropping out from injuries every weekend. Itís part of our sport. The competition is so fierce that guys ride so hard and injuries are going to happen. Unfortunately, our team got hit with the worst injury bug and itís been hard on everyone.Ē

SRT Motorsports - Dodge AMA Monster Energy Supercross Series Race Recap - New Orleans
April 15, 2012 , NEW ORLEANS - Kyle Regal Earns Fourth Consecutive Main Event, Leads Team Dodge in Bayou

Ivan Tedescoís Comeback Cut Short, Misses Main Event

NEW ORLEANS (April 14, 2012) Ė Kyle Regal led Team Dodge at Saturday nightís AMA Monster Energy Supercross Series event at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans. He finished 17th in the Main Event. Teammate Ivan Tedesco wasnít as fortunate as the veteran rider took to the seat for the first time in 10 weeks.

Regal, who only joined the Hart and Huntington team a month ago, has been the model of consistency. He earned his fourth-consecutive Main Event appearance since joining the team. The stop in New Orleans was no exception as the 20-year old rider rode to a solid seventh-place finish in Heat 1, earning the automatic transfer into the nightís feature event. In the Main, Regal wheel-hopped upon landing a triple jump and was thrown from the bike. He would finish 17th.

Tedesco has been shelved for nearly 11 race weekends recovering from surgery to his right hand. He was looking to make his fourth Main of the season. After breaking fourth when the gate dropped in Heat 2, Tedesco looked comfortable as he settled into fourth position on Lap 1. His fate changed a lap later when he stalled his Kawasaki in the ďsand sectionĒ of the technical Superdome course, dropping him 15 spots and out of a transfer berth. A final opportunity to make the Main Event remained in the six-lap Last Chance Qualifier.

In the LCQ, Tedesco broke hard from the gate and settled into a duel with race leader David Millsaps for one of the two automatic transfers into the Main Event. On pace for the runner-up spot, Tedesco charged hard into the final turn, looking to gain the race lead. He made contact with Millsaps, dropped the bike. He finished 18th ending his chance for the primetime event.

The series heads to CenturyLink Field in Seattle next weekend for Round 15 of the 17-event AMA Monster Energy Supercross Series.

KYLE REGAL (No. 36 Dodge/Sycuan Casino/Hart and Huntington/Bel-Ray Racing Kawasaki)
WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS HEADING INTO SEATTLE THIS WEEKEND? ďIím really focusing on consistency and making sure that I stay on two wheels in the Main Event. It sounds simple. Iíve done my job in the Heat races to gain a spot into the Main, but for some reason Iíll make a mistake at the wrong time and put the bike down. Every race that Iíve been on the bike this year, I feel like I should have been in the top-five.

ďIím going to practice this week in Houston and try some things. Iíll fly out Thursday to Seattle where it looks like we may get some rain over the weekend. If thatís the case, the track will be rutted and sloppy which makes keeping your bike up on two wheels critically important.Ē

WILL YOU BE USING THE NEXT FEW WEEKS TO TEST PARTS AND PIECES ON THE BIKE? ďMy main focus will be testing suspensions just to try and get more comfortable on the bike. Iím going to be testing in Vegas in advance of the final in May. Thatís going to be the toughest round and I want to make sure that Iím as prepared for that weekend as I can be.Ē

YOUíVE HAD A FIRST-HAND LOOK AT RYAN VILLOPOTOíS SUCCESS THIS SEASON. AS A FELLOW RIDER, WHAT HAS MADE HIM SO DOMINANT? ďHeís been sick. Heís unstoppable at this point. Heís been on a Kawasaki his whole life and knows exactly what he wants out of his bike. He knows what the bike will do, what he can do. Thereís never any question in his mind the capability of his bike and I think thatís what a lot of guys donít have right now. What it all comes down to is being comfortable on the bike and Villopoto is showing everybody exactly that.Ē

TYLER BOWERS (No. 74 Dodge/Sycuan Casino/Hart and Huntington/Bel-Ray Racing Kawasaki)
CAN YOU TALK ABOUT YOUR OPPORTUNITY TO RIDE WITH HART AND HUNTINGTON AND HOW IT CAME ABOUT? ďItís an amazing opportunity that Carey (Hart) has given me. Iím grateful to everyone at Dodge and Pro Circuit to have the chance to ride really fast bikes. It was totally unexpected. With so many riders hurt in their camp, I happened to be in the right place at the right time. I hope to capitalize on my opportunity. Iíve got plenty of experience on the Kawasaki and feel pretty comfortable on the 450. Iím excited to get to Seattle.

ďAs far as how the deal happened, I had talked to Kenny (Watson, team manager) before but my schedule just never worked to where I could jump on one of the H&H bikes. I was out practicing the other day and got word that Ivan (Tedesco) might not be able to ride; his right hand is just too sore, still recovering from his surgery. He didnít want to endanger other riders on the track. Word got to Kenny that I was available and it was a done deal. Iím excited. I wish it was under different circumstances, but I just have to be thankful for the chance to ride and take advantage of it. I felt great on the bike in practice. The 450 is a much heavier and more powerful than the 250F that Iím use to. I think my size and weight (6í 2Ē, 190 lbs.) is an advantage on the bigger bike. Iíve ridden a few times before in the SX class in Seattle. I just need to have some clean practices, stay on the bike in the Heat race and ride like I know how.Ē
