Some Chrysler temps offered full-time jobs
Sep 09, 2010

ELVIDERE (WREX) - Temporary workers at Chrysler's plant in Belvidere may start working there full time.

United Auto Workers Union President John Gedney says the automaker is offering full time jobs with benefits to some temp workers. A Chrysler spokesperson says it's trying to balance workforce needs to meet production demands and is hiring both permanent and temporary positions where necessary. That spokesperson also cautions though that the company is still in a period of transition and stabilization.
