The Detroit Symphony Orchestra will give a free concert on the evening of Saturday, June 13, for employees of the auto industry—including OEMs, suppliers and dealers—in appreciation of the industry’s current economic challenges.
Chrysler LLC has been offered 250 tickets for distribution to employees and their families, with up to four tickets available per employee on a first-come basis. All employees are eligible, regardless of where they live, as long as they can attend.
The concert will begin at 7 p.m. in Detroit’s Orchestra Hall (3711 Woodward Ave. just north of Mack Avenue).
The Chrysler Foundation, which has been a major sponsor of the orchestra over the years, is in the unfortunate position of suspending its support this year. Nevertheless, the orchestra is giving back to the community by offering this first-ever free concert for automotive employees.
Employees who wish to attend the concert can request as many as four tickets by contacting LaShonda Jackson at tieline 722-5828 or by e-mail LJ52. The tickets can be picked up at Jackson’s desk on the 10th floor of the headquarters tower or sent out by U.S. mail or CIMS.
