'Huge improvement' seen in quality of Chrysler minivans
The number of problems reported by owners of three-year-old Chrysler minivans built in 2005 plummeted in this year's J.D. Power durability report, from 313 per 100 vehicles in 2007 to 251 this year, the marketing information company said. That was one of the largest improvements in the industry.
The industry average was 206 problems per 100, down from 216 problems one year ago.
The improvement in the durability of Chrysler's minivans stood out as a major change in the report, said Neil Oddes, director of vehicle research for J.D. Power. "Dropping by 62, that's a huge improvement, and that's what driving the improvement at Chrysler," he said of the Town and Country.
