Production of 90,000 boost for Jeep?
CHRYSLER CRANKS UP THE VOLUME
Autoline Daily has learned that Chrysler is trying to dramatically boost production of the Jeep Grand Cherokee by 90,000 units a year. A source tells us that 50,000 of those vehicles could be built at the company’s Sterling Heights Assembly plant, also home to the Chrysler 200 and Dodge Avenger. Chrysler tells Autoline Daily it has no comment. Last month sales of the Grand Cherokee shot up nearly 25 percent. We estimate the extra production could drop over $800 million to the bottom line.
