Hand brake adjustment?

I've noticed my hand brake had some free play and wasn't holding properly I took the car to the local mechanic they adjusted the rear brakes but was still the same they then tried to adjust the cable at the centre console only to find there is not adjustment options there? How do I go about this?

Welcome Thamer

There was a recall on MANUAL TRANSMISSION Nitros due to issues such as yours. Many others have had issues on all other Nitros too due to a poor design. Some say that that the emergency brake is self adjusting but when it doesn't many times parts need to be replaced. Sorry not to be of more help. You might stop by a Dealership for advice since they must have dealt with this issue in the past.

Dodge Nitro 07 - Jeep handbrake trick, Emergency brake.

Apr 12, 2019
Handbrake no tension - tried a few other things online but clock spring loose, Wal the genius up the road came up with idea to bypass springs and hook straight up to leaver e.g. old school.. works great.
I am Australia and slightly different configuration than Europe and USA models. Hope it helps.
